I like the series for it's originality. Instead of having an the stereotypical heroes you have a bunch of young teenagers with different traits and abilities. One such example is Ninten gettin asthma and Ness gets homesick. Also the enemies are original too, weird as hell, but original.

Mother 1 (Earthbound zero):WoW, this game is... astonishing! The originality just blows my up.The first RPG to EVER being set in modern times! It's so much fun, the music is cool, the graphics great and the gameplay is........................ AWESOME!!!The moves are interesting, the controls are nice. But everybody and their gramma knows that this game is awesome because it's funny.Who can forget the cat that swims in the ground? But also, this game is hard, hard, hard.I will pardon you a million times if you DIE.

Mother 2 (Earthbound): Is really pretty much the same as above. But thanks god a lot much easier. At least did one got to America. The characters are not the same as the others. But in the end , you'll find the connection with both Mother and Mother 3.Still funny as hell and the music is awesome.Luckily they made it with more weapons, (only our per character in mother 1) this one has like 10 weapons per character.

Mother 3 (Earthbound 2):The game itself it's really not that funny as it prequels, is kinda more dramatic.Still though it keep some funny moments. The story both combines dramatism with comedy perfectly. Two things that their difference is greater than the one of the wood and steel. Now, the gameplay, wow, they made this new music combo system, that's pretty original. It's great, nufff, said.Make it for US, and argentina.

In all honesty, though, EarthBound is an awesome game.

I've only played a little bit of Earthbound, but I loved what I played. It's definatly an original title, especially when you compare it to other games that were out at the time. It also has a good sense of humour, which is something I always appreciate when game developers add personality to their games.

Anyway, it's unfortunate that it didn't sell well in North America. I really want to play the play again, so I'll definatly buy it if they decide to upload it to the Virtual Console.

I am very sorry but Earthbound isn't coming to virtual console. The news was on Earthbound central and Starmen.net.

Of course we're not getting Earthbound, this is America! The only thing we'll ever received Earthbound related is the SNES game that came out 10 years ago. Nintendo doesn't even love us enough to translate the games and bring it over to the states even though they know the entire Mother series has a big fan base here.

It was a good game.

People have taken it to the extreme though... I would have like to have played some sequals but it was no big worry that I didn't. One was enough and I kind of like it that way... it's a game that never got the chance to kill itself (ALA: Sonic).

Earthbound is offically safe as a good childhood memory... at least for now.

I worry Nintendo will bring it back... with shit waggle controls and lame hand drawn graphics to make up for their lack of system specs. It's been too long to revive now... let it stay dead.

Actually Nintendo is done with Earthbound forever. The original writer and creator of Earthbound has no intent on doing anymore games so it's safe. Besides Mother 3 came out just a few years ago so yeah it has been revived but to finish a story we've played a decade ago.

Best game ever. I started Mother 3 but I have been too busy to complete it.

For you earthbound fans, check out this clip of what an EB remake could look like.
