I've been wondering for a while, why is Bruce Springsteen held in such high regard as a singer/songwriter? I've never found him to be all that great.

Also, don't post if you're going to say different tastes, because that is irrelevant to my question.

Every thread I touch, dies.

Well, there's really no answer to your question other than different tastes. It's like the thread about There She Is! haters.

He sings like he's trying to make fun of people who sing for a living. I also hate that monkey.

Bruce Springsteen is over-rated, and since he's from, and lives in my area, it seems almost everyone around here likes his music. I like his influences, but not him,

He's got a nice ass. Well, he did... in the 80s. It was to die for.

I've never noticed any high regards for him, but he's alright to listen to once in a while.

I really enjoy his early work, and he is held in high regard because he did write some powerful music, and he was a voice of a generation. I hate his new song!

Gave him a try once, wasn't into it.

my dad loves him, i think its just because you never grew up in his age 20 or 30 years ago, back then Bruce was a hit in the nation. Personally i like him a lot because i grew up listening to him with my dad

I'm so glad to see all this Bruce hate in this thread ^^

My dad is absolutely obsessed with him; he only listens to his music. Bruce and really bad classic rock.
And ever since XM got the E Street channel, that's all my dad listens to in the car. Hundreds of XM stations, but he only listens to that one.

If you can't already tell, I hate Bruce. He's not that great. I may be slightly biased because I've had to listen to his music ever since I was young, and now I'm just tired of it.
But yea, he sucks :P

I don't see what makes him so bad. I mean he's not the one of the best, but at least he made "Jessie's Girl".

No wait, that was Rick Springfield.

I take that back. He is a loser.
