8 medals, think they are real, not sure

confirmed! sorry about double post.

Is it just me or are most of the new medal games not awarding medals? I did required medal tasks for all these games and it unlocked no medals for me:

I didn't manage to get 400 points for Target Shot so don't know if its medal is working or not.
And I know its not something wrong with all the games cause I just earned a medal for Scarlet Horizon.

It's also odd that none of the authors for those games mention anything about medals in their comments, except the author of Miner Dash who says he doesn't even know who added those medals to his game.

I find it odd too. Wouldn't you need the source code of a .swf file in order to add medals? I don't think NG staff would go around decompiling other people's work without permission.

That's because the author of the Flash would have to program in the triggers for the medals. The staff can add medals any submission, but they will be broken unless the author intended for it to have medals. I suspect this was the case for SeoMX Skating Video v.2.

Looks like the misplaced medals you listed have been returned to their original games. As well as that SeoMX Skating Video pt. 2 has had its medals removed and been taken off the games with medals list.

I agree but I'd be suspicious of whether that medal works or not, even if you could reach that score. Since it's the only medal for that game and apparently impossible to obtain, it seems out of place as such. Some of the other broken medals seem out of place too. Like the single medal for Monki Bound should be ridiculously easy to get, and the names of the medals on Paradoxion Express are odd too. It's like whoever made up these medals didn't put any thought into them, or not as much as an author would anyway.

That is a plausible explanation. Perhaps the staff picked these random games to test the medal approval system but the games themselves were not designed to award medals. The staff probably just made up the medal descriptions specifically for the test and they were never meant to be visible in the portal.

It probably has something to do with the recent portal/api synch that PsychoGoldfish was talking about. I've PMed him with the list of games with broken medals

I thought about that, except it doesn't make sense. The medals have goals that make sense within the game, which indicates that whoever added them had knowledge about the game they were being added to. As well, they have sensible images instead of some kind of placeholder. So all in all it's really weird.

You can skip levels with no loss the the ending you get. So really its not hard to complete. As such. It would be hard to do it without skipping or dying loads though

In epic battle fantasy 3 im going for the scan all foes medal but I forgot to scan the first boss. Will I ever get another chance or is it destined to be?

Anyone got a technique for the skeleton cat mini game (the fourth one i think) I cant even come close to 160 (129 is my best so far) Is there a pattern or anything to make this easier?

it seems like a few people decided to try the medals api and gave up without actually making them work... so I had a boneriffic idea. I'm gonna add an update later where medals will not show at all for games unless they have at least 1 medal unlocked by a user.

Ah, knew there was some sort of explanation for all those broken medal games appearing at once. The update sounds like a good idea. That would weed out the games where all its medals are broken (like -Blind- and Morplee), however you would still be left with the problem of games with some functioning medals and one or more broken medals as well (like Harry Stick Journey and Fig.8).

If it's anything like the 2nd one, those scans will still be there when you play the game a second time.

Try reducing the graphic quality to low. that can speed things up. there's also a video in the official walk-through that shows it being done.

You can always beat the game and replay it back to the first boss.
