Basically, you'll have a copyright on your idea when you make it public. "Making it public" can even be: "Say it out loud in a subway."
However, it might be a bit difficult to prove that you said it out loud in a subway and then someone heard it and stole your idea. ;)

You never have to pay to get a copyright. You have to pay to get something patentet, but that's something different (and you only pay a service fee, I think).

You copied it and gave it out as your own work, that's infringing the copyright.

Yes you can copy small parts of other books and put it in your own, that's called !quoting". But if you quote someone you have to make it clear, give sources, etc. .

seems to me that HeavyTank was legally allowed to do what he did, especially since he did make some noticable edits. Not saying it was ethical, but people here seem to be arguing about the legality of it.

Anyways, survive for 250 hours just seems impossible when the planes come kicking in(just like in Saving Private Ryan). Giving up on 'Movie fan' medal, it is still hard to do it.

Could anybody suggest anything else that may help me with not getting every question as an undefined question? This is just getting a little old now. I've tried everything that I usually do, but nothing has done the trick, unfortunately.

Delete the SOL file after every play. Importantly, when you don't have the flash open and the grey play button is there.

Each time you play the game, it culls different questions from out in the ether, so the SOL file could at any time, have a mix and match of batches of different questions, and amounts as well.

For example, just a heads up to the people downloading that text file- unless he spent 12 hours sorting and removing duplicates from 200+ instances of opening said SOL file with DIFFERENT QUESTIONS each time, that is in now way a complete file.
Now if he decompiled the code and somehow found where it was pulling from, then, I'll give him this one. But I don't decompile stuff, so... Yeah. :)

Also, who is that guy on that 100 point medal? I googled but do not get the pop culture reference between him and the achievement required to gain said medal.

Funny; some of the users in the Flash forum said the opposite; that it only works in AS3 (which clearly wasn't true). Either way, I'm pretty sure many of the 'Games with Medals' use AS3. For example, the Doom Triple Pack uses Alchemy, which converts C++ to AS3, but not AS2.
I can't speak from experience, but perhaps Tom/Psycho/whoever only gives you the relavant code for the version which you are using. After all, AS3 hasn't really lost any functionality from AS2, and certainly not from AS1 (I don't think Pico's School's code was upgraded), so I don't see why it couldn't be used.

__TIPS FOR D-DAY DEFENDER___

In order to pratically get ALL the medals, follow these simple rules.

-instead of aiming at a specific soldier, aim at a -------......___ angle in a group of soldiers. This way you will kill them a lot faster and less will make it far enough to start shooting you.

-Shoot the tanks, cars, grenade soldiers, AND ALWAYS THE PLANE first because all of these explode, killing everyone around them. Then get the rest of the men left.

-After around 3 days, planes will start coming. Listen for them and shoot at the air when you hear them! Once your hit with one of these bad boys you lose 1/2 of your health! So keep a HEAR out for them.

-In order to watch all of the cutscemes and endure my awful voice acting, go to the nearest grocery or hardware store and buy a set of ear plugs for a dollar. Come back to your game and insert them into your ears. Watch the cutscenes, WARNING: WHEN WATCHING THE CUTSCENES PLEASE DO NOT ACTUALLY WATCH THEM! WATCHING THE CUTSCENES MAY CAUSE SERIOUS BRAIN AND EYE DAMAGE! To avoid accidently looking at the cutscenes, grab a bandana from your house and tie on your head over your eyes.

-use mortar strikes when most needed. Save them up for when your about to die. This applies to every other upgrade.

IN order to put medals on an AS3 game goto the Publish Settings and set to FLASH PLAYER 8 or 6.

That should do the trick.

I came out of the map and all of a sudden, my view is stuck UP. It was funny for the first 30 seconds of me trying to find a switch in the Cathedral level, but now I just feel lost and .. a bit loney..

Anyone have the keymaps? The menu only lists the keys for the original Doom/Heretic setup, not as it was ported to flash.

Though thank goodness the source was made open last year. Took them long enough. :)
