The author acknowledged that the medals are glitched and is working on them now.

yes we know about these bugs and are working on fixing them. He can easily take care of the error, dont worry about it. Just wait for a few days before attempting on getting all the medals.

Also, we made the game a little bit harder by making enemies keep getting faster. Why? It gets really repetitive towards the end and some managed to last 400 hours because the guys repeat the chargin in, a tank here and there, and a plane over and over again.

It's people like you, and the author, that I don't mind bugs in games. It's Dimz from FUI2 and the programmer of Seed of Destruction that piss me off because, unlike you guys, they just don't care about fixing their game. To them it's done and good enough for them and they don't want to touch it again.

As long as it will be fixed relatively soon I don't care, tell Xeptic to take his time and make sure it's done right.

That's good news. But anyways, I dropped by here to post this error box that came up about the time that the grey box appeared in DD Defender. Not sure if it helps, but I figured, what the hell?

I looked through the past page or so, but I didn't see anyone post it.

I figured it had to do with the Mortar medal, because when I unleashed a mortar strike, I kept getting the medal, as well as these error messages.

Thanks for the well wishes, I've played 8 times and haven't yet lived long enough to destroy a tank, let alone see one.
I can NOT figure out the aiming mechanics.
Do I aim behind the front chargers/at the middle of the line?
Hover the reticle directly over the front soldier?
Or further yet, is it a strategy to hang back towards my cliff with the line-of-fire declination poised directly at what I want to hit a la' Bunny Rampage or whatever it was called?

Big O by me

- Aim slightly in front of the thing you are aiming to kill. This will be more accurate than placing the cursor on top of the enemy.
- Fire at groups of enemies for better efficiency and fire at stragglers last.
- Reload whenever you feel safe to but try not to let your ammo go below half. ie when the majority of the stronger units of the wave is killed.
- Kill the heaviest units first and make your way down. First airplanes, tanks, jeeps, rocketeers, grenadiers, machine gunners, then riflemen.
- Listen for the airplanes and start shooting in the air as soon as you hear the sound. Airplanes shot down after half-way across the screen will still damage you.
- Save mortar shots and engineer power-ups for when you really need it. You should use them when your health is below 50% and are facing a major wave.
- Hold click and Reload at the same time to be able to shoot faster and stay at max ammo. You will have to worry about overheating though. Also this unfortunately seems to mess up the game by glitching the medals and skipping in-game cutscenes. My advice with this is to use it in more dire situations.

I know, that's why I specified "within the confines of the game." I hesitate to say legitimately, since i was exploiting the behaviour of the Flash engine in 4 of them and used a stack of pennies in another, but I did everything without manipulating the code or introducing third-party programs. If I'm the first, then that's extra awesome.

Okay, I'd just like to go on the record saying that once you get that grey box, you aren't getting another medal for the rest of the game. I got screwed over out of the 100 pointer, and I'm not in the mood to go at it again. I'm not sure, but as soon as you get that box, just restart, as you are screwed.

I've found that you can get precisely one medal after the box appears. I just got FLAK Expert to round off my medal score at 10,000, but I did not get Master Tactician, which I somehow achieved after FLAK Expert (seriously, I have no idea how I got it; it just appeared). So my in-game achievements are complete, but I'm still shy 3 medals: the two 100 pointers, and the cutscene one (seriously, how many are there? I watched them all up to the 48 hour one, where they stopped, and got no love).

Incidentally, I'm up to 10,000 points. Not bad considering I haven't gotten any in Sonny 2 or the Doom trilogy. I just played a 138 hour game, my personal best. I know I said I wasn't going to play this game until the medals were fixed, but I just really wanted to get my score up to 10,000. And now I have. Good night.

What browser are you using? I know Firefox "refreshes" itself every few minutes. Might that be the problem?

Ahh no wonder my game was glitching up so badly. Thanks Wylo. Looks like you're pretty much ready to do a walkthrough for this game as well once it's fixed.

somethings wrong i just got all the in-game cutscenes and i still don't get the medal
do you need to watch the intro too oh yea i just got flak expert

so far the medals which seem to have problems with are...

1. View all cut scenes / moive fan
2. flak expert
3. live for 250 hours
4. blow up lots of stuff

i got all the medals in game (apart from the moive one) but they dont show up :P... aparently he is fixing it :D
