I reckon sometime in the future some guy will make an achievement database. One that adds all your achievements, trophies and all other kinds (such as steam achievements and windows live) into one big gamerscore. Perhaps future consoles will feature their own type of achievement system.

Not sure how it'll be done. Maybe the guy will ask Microsoft and Sony (and others) to implement a system where you can link your accounts to this website. How will it be done? Maybe numerical or even combine achievements and trophies. Like it is numerical but uses a level system.

Then they won't feel as useless. They'll still be useless but not like they are now.

Quite. Then achievements and goals that are met in real life will be recorded and transfered to this big number you would wear on your shirt. Life itself would be a video game. We would all feel important and super cool but in reality we'd be useless, lost, and unable to function properly, like zombified robots. Then Godzilla would come.

I reckon they'll become part of a lot more online games.
Much like how they've become part of games like Portal Defender, and been represented by games like Achievement Unlocked.
