I don't really like confusing emoticons. Those are simple and they do the job..

Also, isn't it so annoying when websites, IM programs make you use their own, inferior emoticons, like the MSN ":D" is pathetic, I prefer the simple text versions..

I used to use the general assorted emoticons back in the day (e.g. :-), :-(, XP, etc.), but nowadays I only use them sometimes. The one that I use the most nowadays is probably XD, followed by ^_^.

I've seen it change over time, and it also really depends on who I'm talking to but I think my average use of emoticons would sum up to be something like this.

Maybe I'm just being a yung'un, and they were made way before the time I'm talking about, but I remember when the Disney channel spazzed out and had a segment where they'd show an emotion like =-} for 30 seconds.
