See what you're missing by avoiding stores like that? Anymore it seems like it has to be new, or it's nothing. I been going to thrift stores, garage sales, auctions, antique stores, and sometimes dumpsters for years and have found lots of goodies. At one antique store i found a giant 90's era AFX slot car set with 60' of track and loop and wall climbing portions, for 10.00$. Didn't have the cars but a quick trip to Ebay fixed that. Counting shipping the cars were less than 40.00$. The set is worth well more than that.
One dumpster item i found was an 80's Tandy TRS-80 color computer. My family used to have a similar one and i still had the games for it so i tried it. And the're was nothing wrong with it.

I'd definitely hang onto that job. There's no telling what might breeze through the door.

That's right I like guns and ponies. Problem cocksuckers?

A while ago a co-worker of mine offered me this Halo 3 poster for free because the store could not sell it because it promoted violence. These usually go for around $10.00 on eBay and I have a potential buyer at school.

I was not sure of its value until now. It's not expensive, but it's got it's own value to others.

Or, if you can, send 'em to me, I'll take them! I just don't have much money :(

If I find any authentic war helmets, I'll post it here as soon as possible.

I couldn't of said it better myself! Used items can be just as good as new as long as you take good care of them!

KevnSevn, those are some nice items you got there. If there are anyone else who found valuable items in second-hand stores, feel free to post them along with pictures!

Along other news, I got a deal with a kid at school regarding the Halo 3 poster. He's willing to buy it for $15.00 and a family friend is willing to buy the wine-making kit for possibly $20.00-$40.00. We have yet to discuss the price.

At least you're getting progress. Also, anything war-related, jackets, uniforms, etc, also work. There's bound to be a few of those lying around your work, right?

Cool poster, too.

Funnily enough, I've got the hat pin, minus hat and the actual pin itself (it snapped), so it's more an...emblem, now?

It is pretty cool though. My science teacher was clearing his cupboards and was giving stuff away to the class, so I stick my hand up for this SAS wings badge (still got it, beside the soviet badge right now actually), and he gives me it. So then, he holds up the soviet badge. Damn, since I got the SAS badge, he gives my friend the soviet one...

BUT

I buy the soviet badge off my friend for...50 British pennies. He said it was 'worthless junk', and thought he'd ripped me off. I showed him!

That's just as good, could you post pics of both badges? Proof is better than words these days...

You may be in luck. I'm considering selling the picture on eBay real soon.

Today I found two Coca-Cola advertising collage bins that were about to be thrown away. One is twelve years old and the other in twenty years old. I checked eBay and these can go for at least $10.00 each. I found four of these during my career but gave half to a friend of mine.

To the right person they will be valuable. Here's both of them:

I am taking up your offer for $30.00 total and will sell it on eBay after the Easter holidays. I have a mission trip to take part of and I'm afraid I won't be able to mail it until after. Sorry for the inconvenience.

She just doesn't see true value like I do I guess. I'm willing to do research to see what the value is while she slaps on a price or throw it out if she thinks it won't sell.

I work in a small business called, "Orbiting Trends". There may be some thrift stores in your community or at least a pawn shop.

And here's another Coca-Cola bin!

Boy-O-Boy I haven't updated this topic in a looong time!

I finally got back to work and as a collector of old videogames, I found a James Bond game cartridge for Nintendo 64. It was going to be thrown out but I managed to recover it and keep it with my Genesis and SNES games.

This one was going to be thrown out for it being a shot glass and all. Store policy forbids alcohol-related products.

To me it looks like a Thumbelina-sized male Cinderella left behind his glass boot.
