this is my first time using the drawing actionscript, im still learning

if im using _root.lineStyle(3, 0x0000FF, 100); and drawing with _root.lineTo(this._x,this._y); after im done drawing the line i want it to disappear. how do i do that? i tried setting its alpha to 0
