Hi, I recently just got my new Bamboo Fun tablet and I love it. I am trying to make a walk cycle, well not really, its more like a person moving up and down. I can't really get it looking natural and I was wondering if anyone can redirect me to a tutorial on this, because I can't find any myself. Thanks.
Here is a preview: http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/010309/7 0215_Fallout_3.php (It's not great lol)

he's trying to make it look like the character is walking towards the camera.
Your animation looks pretty decent, as far as NG standards go. you might want to make the background shrink slowly so it's apparent that he's actually moving forward.
also try youtubing it so you can get yourself some RL references.

It looks like he is trying to hump something. Make the whole body move, not just his chestal area mostly. And make him bigger if he is moving towards you but you are in a fixed position, and if the camera is not fixed and moving with im, make backround smaller as he walks.

Thanks for the response. I am actually trying to make him move from left to right. I am going to have him staying still while he moves up and down, and I am going to have the backgrounds slowly move to the right, creating the illusion of him moving to the right.

Make him face more right, and your heads attached to your body.. by a neck. They should move slightly more in sync and add some ease to it for godsake (:
Are you on Shrooms?

Looks much better. You've got the idea and technique down, now you just need to practice drawing. Those graphics might be "NG-standard", but that's not exactly a good thing.
f
Its too fast and too much. Make it ease 100 on each movement

It looks nice, but the backgrounds loop in a really uncomfortable way...

It wont really loop that way, It will stop after the first loop. But yea, I need to improve my drawing aswell. I don't really want to draw realistically, I just want it to look like a cartoon. This flash I am making is supposed to be funny, and I want it tool look cartoonish. Does the character look to complex?

So, do you think it will pass judgment?

If you can work on the sway of things, then when its done I believe it would be NG worthy of 2.5+
Btw, when doing movement, try to walk around and record it, and look how it is. Then use that, and emphasize it to make it more prominent into your flashes. It helps, trust me.
