People have a habit of seeing human characteristics, personalities and even appearances in other creatures and objects.
Why do we do that?

It's common in almost every person especially with pets.
This probably explains why people think there is a giant face on Mars but if the picture is taken at any other angle is doesn't.

It all has to do with the angle,shadowing,and shape of the object,like you said we see a face on Mar's,but at a different angle we don't.Same goes for the frog,fox,and face on the moon.
