Maybe she had modified her shoe to have spikes lash out with a special click from the toe, so when she kicked out her shoe, the officer's 100/20 vision saw the spike, dodged it and attacked the girl.

Kinda looked like she said something to him and hit him with a weak kick before he attacked her. Doesn't seem like a reason to go ape shit on her ass but maybe he was in a bad mood to begin with?

Based on the video I don't think the officer overreacted at all as throwing a shoe can easily be considered assault.

The two hits after she was thrown to the ground seems to be because the officers were having trouble getting her hands behind her back, which would then show she was not cooperative. You can't really see what's happening at that time as the guy blocks the view, but it did take a while to put those cuffs on.

LOL, afterwards he checked to make sure he didn't make any dents (drywall or cinder-blocks?!) or blood on the wall, so they couldn't trace it back to him. But he was on tape. OWNED.

I hope that the cop loses his job. It doesn't matter what the circumstances were. As long as the girl didn't pose a mortal threat to the cop, he had no valid reason to slam her against the wall, force her onto the ground, and punch her.

He should be fired and ordered to take anger management courses.

Think. A lot of fights start with anti-social behaviour such as verbal abuse, pushing and throwing objects. How would you like the crap beaten out of you while you do nothing because there's no "mortal danger" or would you defend yourself because there is a threat to your safety?

The cop made a reasonable assumption that someone who was yelling at him and then kicked a shoe at him was soon going to take a swing at him, and I have no doubt that a lot cops are accustomed to this. He reacted appropriately by bringing her to the ground quickly, then had what looked like a struggle on the ground. Hence the punches.

The bitch deserved it. Stop thinking of her as some innocent teen girl who's being wronged and accept it for how it really is. The girl has done something illegal, and has no respect for the officers when she's treated with respect. I'd pop her in the jaw myself with that attitude, and who knows what dribble was running out of her mouth during the video..

The way the cop did it is not fair. A cop has no right to beat anyone after they are thrown to the ground and are no longer a potential threat (even though she wasn't to begin with). She was already going to get a punishment through jail time. so adding a beating isn't going to teach her a lesson. Violence doesn't work in a situation like this.

She was obviously Osama Bin Laden.
