Biggest mistake I ever made 2009-02-26 00:37:33 Reply

I got windows XP 64 bit ( recommendation of the dullards who mounted my PC ).

BIG MISTAKE. Over one year of shitty compatibility with 100% of everything that exists.

Two lessons:

- Don't ever listen to anyone who works in a PC repair store. They are nimrods. In fact, I've found that just about everyone who works in an electronics/video game store of any kind if a moron who doesn't know anything.

- Don't ever get anything on a 64 bit platform EVER. No matter what, this will be THE BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU EVER MAKE. Don't do it.

LEARN FROM ME, LEARN AND DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKES I DID!

Doesn't this make you just as stupid?

It's common knowledge that these guys are fuckin retards, especially big electronics stores like Best buy, and I call them dumb fucks to their face and laugh at them every time we have a chat. I love asking them the hard questions, they give me irrelevant responses 100% of the time.

Ouch. I looked into 64-bit O.S. and they are compatible with VIRTUALLY NOTHING. I don't mean to be mean, but, can't you just google it before making a decision like this? Sheesh.

Sadly, an elderly gentleman that I know rushed out to buy Windows Vista when it was first released (it was the newest thing, so it must be good, right?). Enough said. :(

This is why I have no hard feelings to the big corporations collapsing in this world-wide market decline. You see that alot are still making profits. The ones that fail should fail to open the market to new entrepreneurs. I deal now with a small computer shop down the street and it's not filled with morons, but a businessman and a computer geek that knows his stuff.

Anyways, my point is, let the free market run it's course. Otherwise with publicly funded tax bailouts, we're turning into a socialist society

Ok, about these nimrods giving advice and selling garbage? Why should anyone have to listen to them in the first place?

I'd like to add a third lesson, from my own personal experience:

The Windows Vista 64-bit OS is EVEN WORSE. DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR COMPUTER TO TURN INTO AN EXPENSIVE ELECTRONIC BRICK WITH PLASTIC CASING. Running it will usually BSOD it constantly, usually due to some inexplicable bug with it not recognizing a driver. This did not happen to me once -- it happened twice, with two different computers.

You've been forewarned.

Same here. Built a computer a month ago with it, and had only one overclocking-related BSOD. Vista 64 has my recommendation.

If you are reading this, it means I have posted. Whether or not I am still posting, this has left its mark, for many years to come.
