Alright, so that's my progress for tonight. Tomorrow afternoon, i'll post pics of the stencil getting trimmed, and the paint sprayed!

Ya take your time and if you're not sure about something double check, you don't wanna fuck up and then have to re-paint the wall

I just want to clarify, my name isn't random, it's two words from the Czech language and have to do with a staff injoke regarding my forensics position at a local crime lab.

Lookin good, you should do a layer or two of white underneath to both make fresh white stand out in the tank from the off-white of the wall, and to prime the wall for the black you'll be spraying. on top of that..

Why didn't you just draw it straight onto the wall, mask up the white bits and spray straight on? It would save you the whole stencil step.

I thought about just drawing the outline right on to the wall, but free handing a picture of this magnitude leaves room for many, many errors.

I find this method to be a little easier. Time consuming, but easier. My next step, which i will start in a few hours, will be to carefully cut away sections that i will spray black. Now, because most of the tank is black, some of the pieces that are white, i will cut off, and simply tape it too the wall. Kind of like a big puzzle. Then, when i have all of the cardboard cut, and applied to the wall perfectly, i will spray it down.

Hmm...i really don't think i have the materials/time to manufacture, print, and ship giant stencils, but i'd be more than happy to offer step by step instructions for ya in a little while.
