Quick Sketch for some kicks and practice.

You know I realized that I don't do much fan art. Maybe I should do more.

This was originally intended to be Marge Simpson, it was intended to be more cartoony too, But I thought the post wasn't suiting for Marge so I decided to do an Grown Lisa Simpson instead

Haha, if you didn't state it in your post I would have said that she looks like a more grown anime-ish marg Simpson.

Would Lisa look this anorexic in anime? I know that she's a vegetarian in the show right after being traumatized by seeing footage of a Texas Slaughterhouse but she does need some fat.

She's not wearing a bra, and yet her boobs are positioned in a way that dictates she is.
Also, her right boob is too far to the left.

Happy?

Nope!
You forgot to mention that her right shoulder is messed up as well as seemingly dislocated and revealing too much of her side. You should have told me to fucking learn anatomy along with some other derogatory profanities while calling out my former teachers as frauds.

Yeah... or something like that :3

Ouch I should have sized that down myself. The Auto re-size kind of fucked with the quality a bit...
OH well... this one is in the portal... although I don't think it is quite worthy. I should have put more effort in to the highlights, I got some in there, but hated them and turned off their layer.

Alright Bob, Here is your chance to get back at me for ragging on your mods and such so much.

Yay I actually Sculpted something !

Man its been for ever since I have dug in to the good ol' Super Sculpty :D
Anyway. Basic D&D Prop A rune stone for a spell that I plan on spamming in the future. The rune on it is just something I sketched out. it honestly has no meaning, or at least not one that I know of. I just needed a custom rune to slap in there.

Yay for dry brushing :3

That looks pretty cool. I initially thought it was a drawing lol.

You should consider making more of those and also making up more custom runes, I like your design.

Thanks Lu-lu. :3
I was after adding in the rune, I thought of filling it back in so I could make a mold of the blank stone and make a bunch of copies so I could have lots of different rune stones :P
I am thinking of making one more though...

only one because I only have enough sculpty to make one more :P

As a cleric I must ask, will this spell be super useful for me.
Oh, and btw, what is your favorite version of D&D to play. I like 3.5

I'm a 3.0/3,5 guy. I didn't care much for the way they dumbed down 4.0 Made the players too powerful as well.
Anyway, you'll want the feat called inscribe rune Its for divine magic. I have to take the feat etch rune for arcane magic. You should should be able to find the details here and http://dnd.savannahsoft.eu/feat-1656-ins cribe-rune.html those sites also list the books that they are in incase you need to look them up

I hated how basically everyone has spells in 4.0 which makes casters just about useless. I have scribe scroll btw, that has saved my party's asses a few times.

I had to pick it up as well. This new campaign is just starting, and the few spells I do have are have saved us a few times so far. but still being low level, I only have a few shots then I have to take a back seat. Haven't had any appropriate time yet to make up any scrolls. I think I am going to enjoy Etch Rune since it allows me to add runes on pretty much anything. I'm going to see if the Dm will let me have multiple runes on my quarter staff.

Ok Here is number two.
Lets get that feed back rolling.
I'd really like some reviews this time. Especially from those of you who play D&D and or do miniature/prop painting

I did a 2 bake with this one. The first bake was after I sculpted the stone and the second was after adding the raised runes. I went in to try and etch out a little more detail after the bakes.

They look okay; you could maybe try adding a bit of faux texture to them with paint.
How big are these things?

Not too big. the first is 3 3/4" x 2 3/4"
the second is 3" x 2 1/4"

I thought that I had worked in some good texture on the second one, but I guess that I should have gone a bit deeper.
I honestly feel that the second one is a good step above the first though.

Guess I had better study some more rocks.

yeah you did allright, but there are still some parts that look flat, unrocklike...
have you tried chipping away at the clay after you baked it? that might give you some natural dent.

Nah, I haven't given that a shot yet. On the second one I did go back and try and etch down some of the intentions and corners, but nothing too prominent. I'll give it a shot.
Maybe even trying to break parts of the edges off. Or perhaps going out to the drive way and getting a big rock to texture with. This is making sense now that you got me thinking about it.

Ok Number 3!
I used a rock and textured this one a bit to give it some depth Qb. So if you would be so kind as to giv e some more criticism my friend?

Took me for ever to get a somewhat clear shot of it this time.

I do feel that I am getting better at this though.

For the runic markings on the stones, try to get the painting a bit more consistent. There are some white patches in them and it takes a bit away.
Also, if you want them to feel more powerful, maybe try some more vibrant colours, like the neons or fluorescents. It will really make them pop.

I wanted a bit more older feel to the rune this round so I went back over to add some white to the peaks. Guess that isn't such a good idea. Perhaps another method is in order. I'll keep that in mind.

Also, if you want them to feel more powerful, maybe try some more vibrant colours, like the neons or fluorescents. It will really make them pop.

I have been trying to use metallics to get the runes to stand out. but with with a limited selection I have to mix a lot, and sadly it is taking a bit away from the impact of the metallic. I sued to have efflorescent paints, but they dried up long ago.
I should have made that orange a little more to the yellow to make it brighter. I could make the excuse that the lighting and camera washed out the color a tad, but we all know that would be me just pulling bullshit excuses out of my ass. Also now that I look at it again but in a different lighting, the orange is a bit dull and blends in a little much.

So don't do the white on the rune, and more vibrant colors. KK Makes sense to me.

Sure runic markings can wear down, but runic SYMBOLS have magic imbued in them, and last the ages.
