Alrighty, another flood to my thread. We'll have the ball rolling in a moment, and hopefully the Post Limit (Fucking Post Limit >:(......) doesn't get in the way too much.
So it has been a few days since I opened my gates, but no worries, I chose some nice ones to post. So lets start.
The other day, playing "The Dungeons and the Dragons"..... again
Kudos to those who know the reference.
and the game was a little slow so I started sketching since I brought my sketch book. And so in the spirit of the game I drew a dragon skull... I personally think the profile view came out better.
After finishing, another artist who was there and I started passing back and forth a gram cracker box and drawing on it......
I had a bleeding gram cracker..... he was half eaten..... it was aweso.
I would like to think I'm getting better at adding little details in a lot of my work. so pass on the comments if you agree, disagree, or just want to rant if I have flamed/trolled you recently.
This next one I used reference on, for the body, but couldn't get the head right, so I came back to it a few days later and tried to re do the head again, and again, and again..... but with not making much progress, so I said "fuck it, maybe I'll get it on the next one."
This little one, I actually did a few nights before the last girl I just posted.
Excuse the line paper, but I was setting at the dining table watching Invader Zim at like 2 in the morning.
although I'm kind of surprised that something some what normal came out while watching Zim... o.0...
over all I like it and think the shading came out alright for no reference and a ball point pen.
probably hit the limit soon..... oh well if I do, I'll watch another episode of Breaking Bad so the limit will clear and I can post more :D
I think the show is kind of cool :|
This one I pulled some reference from the painting "Darkwell" By Jeff Easley it's also the cover of a book of the same name from the Forgotten Realms series.
I had actually picked up a couple of old D&D and DragonLance Art books the other day and I must say they have been inspiring.
Although I think I some how added a spare muscle to the subject's right arm, the shading and pose came along very well.
again, more D&D shit..... you know.... I think I might have a problem......
the first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem....Hey! Fuck You man, I have no desire to recover, I'm a game junky and I love it!
o.0.... indeed....
anyway a Gnoll....
Oi Bob, when you see this, this was the one that reminds me of you for some reason....
Perhaps it's the beard..... or have you and I ever discussed Gnolls? I'm not sure what it is, but while I worked on it yesterday, I kept seeing you for some reason o.0...
used a picture in the 3.0 DM's guide to get the features right....
I think the Shield came out good as well as the belt across the chest.
and Post Limit >:(.....Damn.... I only got two more after this......aw come on come on come on.... hurry up.... Damn, I'm impatient....

The chest seems a bit odd here, for no reference it's quite decent.
Overall you definitely seem to be improving and you can draw both cartoons and more realistic drawings well. I think you just need to start doing bigger things then sketches. More complete/finished drawings, start using more colour and things like that. Ye... good luck

bigger things eh?
Bigger like how? Um a 3D Landscape maybe?
:P
yeah... I'll stop procrastination that one day..... I'm sure of it... :D
Yeah I think I should try something to give myself a good workout. Perhaps I should do a Whore for a day or some commission work or something. Perhaps even take on a couple request from the Request Thread...
Anyway.... Here is the next item on the list..... Boots....
yep boots..... I wanted to do something simple and easy while making them look good. I think I have accomplished that minor goal.
need soda...... >.>..... mmmmm caffeine o.0.....
Hey, man, nice boots. Like the little stitching detail that you've gone ahead and put into them - really have managed to make them look good, anyhow. I'd say that doing a Whore for a Day is a great idea, it'll let you do several pairs of boots.

my mind has been gravitating toward the idea for about a week now, but my self doubt kind of gets the better of me, and I don't think I could handle the request, or my art won't be up to stuff.
Perhaps some time this week if I can get a day to myself.
As for my final rough for the night, my rough for the green line collab.
now my original idea was quite NSFW, as is the rough draft, but I think I have a way to make it more "Friendly"
BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going for a two-fer.
The other night I was listing to some music videos here on NG. They brought up some good memories. So I started sketching my character, and then I thought I hadn't drawn "Her" character in a long time. so I did. It felt pretty good.
I've learned in these cold hard times, sometimes the warmth of memories of better times help your survive from time to time
Ok enough of that you pussy!
So anyway the sketches then turned in to practice with some hard lighting.
or would it be hard shading....
Anyway Here are the links. Some Reviews would be nice.
Raina
Kinsei
and then after I drew those two..... I drew a hand..... it was kind of the low point of my night.... >.>..... talk about ruining my winning streak huh?
oops looks like I some how lost the file..... not even in the recent history of Photoshop... oops, must have not saved it...
Oh well Here is my Cthulhu Creature instead. I just finished it up... it's only a sketch though.... anyway I'm heading over to the Lovecraft Creature Feature right not to drop it off right after posting this....
Damn.... almost 3:30 in the morning?
as if this is anything new....
anyway, last few updates for the evening.
I'm doing an art trade with Kashi. I'm doing her "Combatant No. 2" character.
I really think since I tend to those buff guys I can add a interesting twist with this fella.
Here is Wip 001
this is my underlying anatomy.....
I cried a little inside when I had to cover almost all of it up
Cheers!
And here is the final rough.
All I got left is some inking and the entire coloring process....
or I might get lazy and just leave it as line art..... nah, I wouldn't do that to you Kashi....or would I? >:3
I hope I get to work on this all day tomorrow. I don't get much time to myself anymore lately.
I think while you got your fabric folds and anatomy pretty down pat, your proportions are occasionally a little iffy. The latest image for example, the leg closest to us I'd imagine should be slightly larger than the other leg which is heading further away.
Also, I'm not sure if it's related to the above point, but the stance doesn't feel like it could sustain the action.

Yeah I do tend to build my proportions like my anatomy, a bit to the muscle bound side. I like the sense of raw power when I draw strong characters. And I usually get that feel with some exaggerated proportions. Is it kind of is more of a choice than unintentional.
As for that leg, yeah I have issues with feet and then mixing some perspective on top of that, kind of made that a bit wonky. I knew the issues when drawing it, but after 3 rebuilds I said "Fuck it" and figured I could try and make it up in the inking.
Yay some one commented!Take the hint guys!
I dig the last one -- that's not an easy angle to convey

The leg closest to us, as Kuoke said, is kind of the low point of the piece. The kneepad, based on the first WIP (and the underlying anatomy shown there) makes said kneepad look kind of lopsided. Also, the tightness of the kneepad makes the leg look really thin. Then again, my character's legs have always been hidden by pants, so who am I to argue?
Also, I feel guilty that I haven't even started yet and already you and 50 have finished my lineart!

Another Update!
I increased the size of the closest foot since every one was bitching about it.
Hey I was complaining about it too, so no harm no foul.
Anyway I'm not sure if I got it big enough.
I think the inking is pretty much done, not to just shove it in to photoshop and color it.
Sorry kashi, I said I would have it done today, but it looks like I may not get it done until much later tonight or tomorrow.
I couldn't work on it yesterday, so it set me behind a day...
So yes... more comments and critique is very welcome.
GOGOGO!!!

Kensi, Ive said it before (I think...Im pretty sure ive thought it before) but your digital inking really sucks compared to your pencil drawings... If I were you, Id go to 50-fifty and ask him how uses his lineart in his drawings. Im pretty sure he doesnt redraw it digitally...

perhaps I should talk to fifty...Oi Fifty, Tut Please!
Lol, I think we could ALL use a few tips (or very long, drawn out tuts, please!) from Fifty-50.
Meanwhile, I haven't even started on yours yet. I was so ready to do it yesterday, but then I threw up. Then I got a 103 fever. And now I'm sick in bed. Yay. I love the flu.
However, I'm gonna see what I can do now :)
Wish me luck!

This reminds me of the game Wild ARMS, he looks like he'd fit right in with the rest of the characters. *nerd*
I thought I would try and changing up my coloring and inking style. SO here is a little experiment, took about a half hour to 45 minuets to do.
So thoughts?
High Resolution.
Man I have gotta do change things up a little. My thread goes almost inactive between my Upload bursts.
I mean it gets somewhat active during the burst, but then it dies.... oh well, I have some more adrenaline to pump in to this shambled collection I call an art thread...
yes, there will be sketches.... I only got about 5 or 6 though.
This is a sketch I been wanting to attempt for a long time. When I finally did, it came out very loose and pretty free, and in the end I like the way it came out. I think I want to try to use the pose a little more so I can refine it and then make a complete piece.
Round Two: FIGHT!!!
oh wait, Hold up, boobie break.....
I really don't draw many women, and when I do they tend to look like they could give a new meaning to the phrase "Death grip hand job"
So I drew a few girls this time, Here is the first, the second will be here in a few post. I find my self to be relying on reference a lot for poses lately.
Do you guys think that is bad or me just being resourceful?
Discuss
I feel that I have been working so much lately on people and characters that I wanted to do something, anything, than another character, so for some reason a grappling hook popped in to my had and I couldn't resist the urge to draw it... So I did :3
I was asked to design a axe for the cleric of our D&D party. so here is one of my drafts.... now to convence the DM to let him have it.....
:P
there really isn't anything special about it. other than it can "Extend" for use, and retract to help hide it >:3
......
.............
...... Fucking post limit......
.........
This is one of my favorite recent sketches. I think the muscle work came out nicely.
I was thinking of using this pose for a second Vexon, but if I want to do a rogue, I figure I should go for the more slim muscle build.
And my last one, Not really a sketch, but more of line work for the Christmas C.O.W.
This one is hand inked.... I haven't done that in a while, I was surprised at how steady my hand has gotten.... or maybe it was just a good day to draw.
I'll be doing a digital color as well as a hand color in my sketch book.
