lol a Pixel ban medal .
I should write ban on it and forward it over to one of the admins so they can have it put on the ban screen or something :P
Kinsei you gotta have a different design on both sides of the coin!
and more frames, you've only got four
by the way I want one of these coins
.
ok this should make jonny happy, I spent some time on something.
This is just a small part of a bigger project I am making for a game I'm. I just hope I can get the Game Master to approve of it.
I'm thinking of calling it the Dillinger or the Skeeter what do you guys think
ID number so far is the 598-314
As for a list of entire project lay out, I have to finish the ship, do interior layout and blueprints, write up appropriate stats for the speed fire power etc, and do some good unwrapping and materials.
so it's up to you guys for the name
Vote Now for Dillinger or Skeeter

Is it a floating positronic robot companion?
positronic, neurotronic, semi-auto supersonic
hypertronic, levitronic, null-inducing fully-chronic

I was initially gonna say "Is it kind of like the Guilty Spark from Halo?", but I know how much you hate that.

I should probably do a better render then, the perspective on this one really didn't help, This should help
Hey you didn't vote on a name damnit!

Views 3 and 4 make him look like a TIE fighter.
Hey you didn't vote on a name damnit!
Well, what kind of unit is it?
If it's just an NPC that helps you, go with the Dillinger. If it's an enemy that comes in swarms, go with the Skeeter.
Other ideas if it's an NPC that helps you would be like it has a name that stands for something.
Ex/ Fighting Levitational Advanced Positronic Protector, aka FLAPP

well the place where I got the original idea was off some starwars designs and some actual spacecraft designs.

Did this really come off as some sort of helper droid?
It's suppose to be a full on spacecraft. I'm trying to design our crews ship. The game were going to play has only like 5 or 6 different craft designs and only a one or two are for smaller crews. Since the section is so little the game allows the players to design there own ship, as long as it follows the rules.
So far we have a captain, a pilot, a mechanic.... and I'm not sure about the rest or even if we are getting more players, so we all might have to multy class. (I can't take the ships medic do to I'm barred from ever playing a doctor again no matter the game...)
The orange "eye" is suppose to be the Bridge. it's suppose to be a minimum crew of 4 and can hold 20 people comfortably.

Mreh, my first thought was like a sort of robot familiar that helps you in battle.
It really didn't come off as a full on spaceship to me.....

well with it being very out of context and no materials on it except for the orange piece, and the previous notion of the Guilty Spark, I can see how you though that.....
so biased on the now assumption that it is a space ship, what is your input :P

Well, make sure to rough it up a bit then, cause currently it's much too smooth.
As for the name, I guess you could go with The Dillinger....

after all this.... thats all you have to say?!?!....
ok.....
It reminds me of one of the GLaDos parts in portal.
Dillinger.

I'm hoping that I get more votes on the name soon,
The paint is coming along well on the main hull. I have yet to unwrap the wings but I want to get this part done first.

Looking really awesome. So you gonna start a big project soon? I wanna see someone do 3d art of a tree or some kind of nature cos everyone just seems to do machines and man made objects. I would try it myself but I don't have a computer that can run a 3d program very fast and I downloaded maya a while ago and it was way too confusing... o.0

I did a tree once, it was interesting, to do.
The biggest problem with making things like tress and rocks is that they are hard to get right. many times it comes out looking too flat or two smooth. Although I do admit, those who can do a pretty good job are really good. Programs like ZBrush which are more of a sculpting program rather than a actual modeling program is really great for doing organic stuff like rocks and trees.
I know simple ways to do landscapes and such and many 3d programs come with pre-built models for trees and bushes and such. And although these are convenient they don't always get the feel you want.
I guess for a next project I can do a tree or something.
damn it you didn't vote!!!!! >:(
Well either way since I can safely bet that I'll only get maybe one or two more votes it looks like Dillinger will be it's name. so Here is a logo I will affix to the side of the side of the ship...
This make you Happy Jonny.
I got the map done, now to pose and light it.
The lighting right now is incorrect and messing up my bump map
So far though, I think this is a win, what do you think guys?
darken the background and add some weak glow and depth diffuse effects perhaps?
increase spec value on the metal to make it more shiny lookin?

I can go darker on the starmap with out a problem. Normally I would have just left it floating in gray, but I really wanted this to be in context, so I did the stars. Jonny has already mistaken it for something else, which I didn't have such a big problem this time.
As for glowing I guess some lighting from the cockpit wouldn't hurt...
I didn't build a specular map like I should have, guess I shouldn't avoid it though, down side is that I have to make it to the maps already in place which takes a little more thought, Guess it;s not a big deal though, shouldn't take long.
Although Shiny is nice, I'm trying to avoid that has a whole. My last dew were shiny and reflective out the wazoo, so I'm restricting anything like that to the frontal view port and the "claws" around it.
Darkened background with a gradient overlay to disrupt the flat color. added a gloss and specular map. also added some glow to the cockpit glass and some proper reflectivity to the glass
Looks much better, and I see it more as a spaceship now.
Although I still would love a miniature one that flies around me as a robot familiar, like Floyd from Jet Force Gemini.
