Well... I have my COW #80 done....
does any one want to color it again, or should I submit the one I already colored?
Hey if any one does want to color it, let me know and I'll be sure to get you the file.
who knows, perhaps another joint submission might arise out of this..
here is the one I colored, I present to you Zaker

haha looks intriguing to say the least, ill leave the colour to someone else, it looks a bit more complicated this time, if i havent done a submission by the deadline ill have a crack at it, so leave the submission until later and you may get someone colour it, but its up to you :)
It reminds me of a porygon 2 with tentacles.
I love pokemon references that are way obscure and probably not accurate...

hey... lol your right :D
tentacles always make everything better....... always........
when I was coming up with this little guy, I could only think of one thing.... electrical tentacles..... after that I just kind of slapped the rest together
can you put up a link to the psd because to be honest i cant think of anything that isnt a complete copy of an existing animal with electic bolts on it, you dont mind if i colour your work AGAIN do ya

hey I'll get it up up right away.
you've already proven you can out do me in color, so why not :P
as for the colors, I really don't have a scheme, so this was kind of what ever came to mind :P feel free to use what ever colors you want.
I guess the only thing I should warn you about is the background was free hand, so there is no line art for it....
SO here you go
Zacker PSD This is the file I used to color. but everything is on separate layers so it is easy to clear them...
and just so you have it,
Zacker Color Pallet

well i dont know about that, iv still got a lot to learn about the digital painting stuff, thats what im trying to do but i suck at lineart so this is good practice

i wont go exactly the same colours but ill try to stick to the same scheme

i suck at backgrounds aswell as lineart so ill probably keep that

Zacker Color Pallet
out of interest what is he standing on, ice?
and its only the preview for the colour pallet that doesnt work, but i wont need it anyway i go by what i see and try to guess it :)

To be honest, I wasn't very good (I'm still not good, but I'm better than I was,) with Illustrator, so thats why I started inking in the program, to get better. and at first the not wanting to color bit was just laziness, but I have found out so far that inking for other people takes a little more of a challenge than inking for myself, so yes the practice is very good.

well I was kind of going for a random ground look.... sort of grass, but Ice works well too.
although I find it odd. the color pallet comes up fine for me o.0....
the dumping grounds are weird....
time for another ashman kinsei collaboration
today line art and coloring, tomorrow.... the world >:3
i just realise it looks vaguely similiar to something i made on spores creature maker, just messing around sticking the mouth on the top of his head, giving him wacky arms, the usual when your bored

I'm not too good at digital painting, so to remedy that, I need to practice, right?
Not bad for not being used to it, though I'd suggest a wider amount of colors and the reflected light being a bit dimmer.
A trick I'd suggest, and should probably start using myself, is smudge a bit where the colors meet for a smoother transition.
The cast shadow looks a bit puny, this doesn't work for everything but I think its pretty good for spheres is that the angle the light is coming from, should also be the angle for where the shadow ends.
if you don't get what I mean I'll do an edit to show you.

yeah, about 10 minuets after completing this I realized that I should have done it with a softer brush. I think the grays would have blended better if I was working with about 30-50% rather than 100%
eh, my bad, I'll try and remember next time...

spheres are good practice on shading and reflections, theyre also a bit of a challenge if you dont know what your doing, looks like you got it though and yes a softer brush would have made it look better, for my colouring i mostly use a 30% brush, but any soft brush would work if this is in photoshop
i dont know anything about other programs

like I said, when it comes to extensive coloring, I usually do it all with markers. and typically the most coloring I do is on things like my materials for my 3D models. Although getting better at digital painting should help me in paint my mats. so all in all, this should be beneficial all the way around...
