Not at all. I'm just saying that the universe is amazingly complex and specific;
don't you find the fact that the universe is how it is pretty... odd?

However, Brick-Top made an interesting point.

Note: I don't believe in God right yet, but I'm still subject to change. Best to consider both sides.

I think the point is that, if the universe was created of functioned diffrent, none of us would be here because it would be impossible for any of this to exist.

You're assuming that the universe would be diffrent, but still just as perfectly balanced to still allow some form of life and a stable existance. At which point... the OPs original point of the universe being perfectly balanced still remains true and just as oddly mysterious.

Everyone who responded to Brick-top's post should observe my initial New Scientist link.

The vast majority of people here are so dead-set on thinking they are right that they don't even realise they are ignoring your link :P

Ive had LONG sleepless nights thinking about this sorta stuff. Not exactly what you said though, I think about things like "what was before the universe? There cant of been nothing, but then again it MUST of started at some time." I also think, whats outside the universe? Billions of other universes? I think so. Also, try thinking about this. Imagine if none of this has ever happened? Like, no big bang or "God" or whatever, none of this universe had been made. NOTHING. Weird, huh?

God I just dont know what to think :P

Saw the link... who cares.

Basically, a guy says "I made a computer program that may or may not be accurate in calculating what the universe might have been like if this constant value had been changed". Look, black holes everywhere.

There are a number of things that could be wrong here, but most importantly, the universe didn't form with Black Holes everywhere so discuss what it may have been like holds about as much value of me asking you what my life would be like had you been born a chicken. It didn't happen so all we can do is speculating meaning all the answer we come up with are just blind guesses in the dark based around our limited understanding of science and general assumptions about life.

Also, String Theory already covers this. His other links where to a site about diffrent ways the world could end. It's old and I've known about it for a while. It too is all just speculation and doesn't really prove anything so there is no "right" about it.

Fact is, nobody knows anything. None of us know why the universe was created. We don't know how it came to be or how its going to end. Hell, we don't even know that it is going to end. Even theories like the Big Bang, are still just theories. Although they're the most logical and most accepted theories it out, we could wake up one day to find out we where completly wrong. Keep in mind, you're talking about the same science that put the wrong skull on the wrong skeleton for years creating a wrong fossiled dinosaur remains... we tought our children about a proven dinosaur that turned out to not exist. We where close... but close doesn't count when it comes to facts.

What's the saying... close only counts in hand-gernades and horse-shoes.

Do you know that when you look at a planet and you see that light that planet's not even there? That's just a light. That's just your neighbor shining a flashlight right into your yard, looking for

coons. And he says, what are you doing in my backyard with that flash light? And I told him I'm shining it. I'm shining it in the window so I can teach your son about the universe. He said get out of my yard and why are you communicating to my son? Why are you in all black, behind my bushes shining a light into my house? And I said I'm teaching your son about the universe. I'm shining a light. I'm shining a light right in there and exploring his room as he's looking out and exploring the universe. I turn the light off and I see your son go to bed and I turn the light back on and I do swirls on the wall like a comet's tail.

I do this every night with your son.

we're just a pathetic speck on the canvas of the universe. in fact, every single thing we know about the universe may be completely different on the other side. the universe may not be as complex as it seems. things simply are this way. perhaps, somewhere else in the universe, things work differently. of course, we being humans, would try to explain and define everything, trying to make in simmpler, while in actual fact complicating everything. The Universe is a weird thing, but so are our thoughts. Is there a single dimensinal world out there? Has anyone tried to imagine a world where sight was sound? Where sound is more important, more significant a sense? Instead of saying 'you look good', it becomes 'you sound beautiful'. Instead of painting a picture, you speak one. Instead of listening to music, you look at one. of course my brain is full of bullshit so think what you like.

The story so far:

In the beginning, the Universe was created.

This has made a lot of people mad and been widely regarded as a bad idea.

Well it had to be some way, so think of it like that. And always remember, the universe doesn't divy itself up into atoms, stars, planets, gases and so on, it just IS. It does it's own thing, their is absolutley no organization until we step in and try to make sense of what we can.

Why does it have to be a "system" if you will? Why do humans, as animals, veiw everything as a material thing, like when you say "save THE universe" the "the" is emphasizing that it is a soild, a material thing, when it is not, it is an ever growing nothingness filled with life, I know how that last part sounds but it makes sense.
