Most Anticipated/Must Buy?

I was just wondering what you guys would consider being a must buy game in 2009 as I thought it would be Halo Wars, but i've been told otherwise. But to be honest there hasn't hype over any other games.

Its not halo wars I heard that game sucked as for 2009 I would still say its left 4 dead's downloadable content scheduled for this spring.

Ive been hurt by reputations and teasers ever sine Spore came out last year. They really did over-hype it, or was it just me doing so?

Now I tend to buy the games I like, not some spotty basement dweller 'two thumbs up.'

1 reason that spore was hated was the DRM. everyone spammed amazon.com when it came out because the customers were being punished because the DRM was an attempt to prevent piracy of the game, but in the end, the pirates always come out on top without a DRM version. the innocent customers dealt with an activation system and were only allowed 3 installs per box and had to have an internet connection.
2nd reason is because the developers took out alot of content. it was hyped to show an in depth evolution of your user created specimen. many people "Beat" the game in 2 days even though it is a game based on evolution which takes millions of years...

I'm becoming less and less impressed with the "big releases" with each successive year, which is a little sad. In fact, I don't think I bought any of the big holiday releases last year except for Rock Band 2 and LittleBigPlanet. 2009 isn't looking much different. A whole lot of the same old shit with just a few exceptions. Chief among them is MadWorld, which looks like just the kind of crazy, stylish thing I need to dust off the 'ole Wii for the first time in far too long. Sequels to Call of Duty 4 and Mass Effect seem promising on developer pedigree alone, as well as Harmonix's mysterious Beatles game, and God of War III seems like fun (is that even an '09er?). Besides those, though...bleeeeeeh.
