One of my teachers used the word "lexicon" today, and I didnt know what it meant, and not wanting to interrupt/seem stupid, I wrote it down and googled it when I got home....

Lexicon is the extent of your vocabulary; e.g. had I have had a larger lexicon, I would have known the word "lexicon" !

Ironic is a word that gets misused so much. It means saying one thing and meaning another or doing one thing and getting another result.
It is not a funny coincidence as you use it to mean here.
So expand your lexicon and learn what ironic means.
