My computer broke...

I've lost it for over a week now, fortunately my mom let me use her laptop from time to time so I can still fulfill my wicked addiction of newgrounds. Although I've no games on this laptop so all I've got is the internet.

What's wrong with my actual computer is that it has a shitload of viruses all over it that crawl in my windows system files and fuck it up good. This made my keyboard stop functioning so I can only use my mouse. For some reason it suddenly stopped detecting my second harddisk (The one my Steam games are on) So I can also forget about those. And on the top of everything it fails to connect to the internet as well, even though it should be able to do so.

Someone I know is taking a look at it since last week thursday (the 12th). I sure do hope he can fix it all cause I've got a week off school now and I really don't feel like reading comics and watching TV all day while I have the greatest video games history has ever brought about but can't use them.

Any gentle remarks to comfort me, newgrounds? :3

Last time I checked SecuRom won't fuck up your computer like that. For one, it's not a virus.

I've lost a computer and I suspect it was due to it, and others have said they too have had thier computers fucked. It is possible, but yes, could still be a virus - I just suspected SecuRom due to the death of the Disc Drive.

The one moment you can prove SecuRom fucks up your computer, you can sue them for millions. The reason you can't, is because it doesn't. It's just some weird way of securing discs for piracy reasons. Too bad Razor or something already cracked the newest SecuRom.

That's already the plan. I hope it works, my first hard drive contains 5 years of history from and about me. Wouldn't wanna lose it all.

You really ought to get anti-virus software. It protects your computer from this kind of event happening in the first place. Right now I use the free version of AVG, which works pretty well.

You think I don't have that? Well not AVG anymore in particular, but I've got some good shit. I just don't run scans and accept certain things a little too fast cause I can't be arsed to wait for a billion year file safety check.

It's very easy to back everything up, and I'm sure the guy who will fix your PC will do that. Just insert a rescue CD, pop an external HD in your PC and copy all your files to that external HD. After that, format your PC, reinstall Windows and use the backup to place everything back again.
