My friend likes to joke around about how I use the term film instead of movie, and wanted to know if anyone else had the habit of doing the same.

I think "movie" is the American way of saying "film", and I'm not American so I just say film. I've always thought that "movie" sounds a bit childish.

My Novel To Film teacher stressed the difference between the two terms, but I kinda forgot his point...

I think I tend to say movie more often.

I don't take revenue from my profile.

Neither. I say cinematographic escapades. Or moving pictures.

I think 'film' is more British, although even here most people say 'movie'. I don't like saying that though, I always think of annoying American teenagers 'going to the movies', which is ironically an impression I've probably been given by an American movie.

Crikey.

I'm accustomed to saying movies, but saying films just seems so much more correct to me. Lately I've been saying films in an effort to get accustoming saying it the correct way.

I mix them up a little really. Some situations saying "film" feels wrong, and vice versa.
Think its movie more often though

I say film. It's a better word. 'Movie' sounds like a Beverly hills bimbo talking.
