so i have a question mr "stock trader" the markets been going constantly down since december so in one month in office is Obama supposed to pull a miracle out of his ass and everything will be okay. no a recession doesn't get fixed that fast. my bet in a year and a half the markets should bounce back.

If that were to happen than it might as well be 100% since a modern capitalist sociaty can't handle more than 10% unemployment. And the OP is sort of right, I'm willing to wait and see, the stimulus is supposed to take time to kick in. But We're still bombing afghanistan and pakistan, dispite the fact that bombing is never an effective stratagy. I don't know about the economy, I think that's still up in the air but if Obama keeps on using the same tactics as our last president in the field than it's only going to cuase the war in the middle east to get out of hand.

He's been in office for about a month, first of all. The stock market is falling at about the same rate it was before he took office. The stimulus bill was only for $787 billion, and it hasn't begun to be spent yet. The stimulus may or may not work... Honestly, a lot of the so called pork is going to be spent on things that really needed to be spent, like the roads, etc. I get worried about bridges collapsing on my way to work every day because our highways are so torn up here. He's not being positive because, as we've learned from the last 8 years, sugar coating things aren't going to make them go away. I'm very sorry to hear about your dad, and if it makes you feel any better, there's a good chance I could be getting laid off soon, too. His cabinet picks have been fairly well received, but some people are getting caught in scandals, and instead of refusing to acknowledge their wrong doings and invoking executive privilege, they've manned up to their mistakes and bowed out. If getting the dog were really a priority, we'd all be fucked a lot more. I think Michelle is hot as hell. He took a couple of days off to spend a little time with his family. Fun Fact, if you add up the amount of time Bush spent on vacation, it adds up to 3 years... He worked 5/8ths of the time. He doesn't want to nationalize the banks, but a lot of people in congress, including some conservative Republicans like Lindsay Graham, have thought it might have to be the way things go. We're still engaging in airstrikes in Afghanistan, yes, but he said from the start that Afghanistan would be a priority under his administration.

My REAL point though: Like him or don't, but give him a little bit of time. Bush's first 100 days in office were spent doing nothing, at least Obama is trying his damnedest to get some stuff done. If we didn't impeach the worst president since Warren G Harding, we can give Obama a couple of months to see what happens.
