Bioshock help!!!

Well i fnnaly found my first "little sister" in bioshock. And when you find her one of the horrifing people tells you not to kill her and it will be worth your while. But if you kill her you et full ADAM.(WTF is that?). So to all of the people who have gotten to this part, which one is the bes to choose?(and WTH is ADAM)

ADAM is like money... well, not really, but that's the best way to think of it. They explain more later.

Right now, all you need to know is that with ADAM you can buy new powers... things like shooting fire from your hand and whatnot. Killing the girls provides you with more ADAM... it's been a while but if I remember correctly , saving the girls still gives you ADAM, just not as much.

The choice is yours and effects the end of the game. But do one or the other... there is an ending if you save some and kill some, but it's pretty much the same ending you get when you kill them all so don't waist your time with that.

You need ADAM to upgrade yourself by getting more Plasmid powers and Slots so you can hold more Plasmids.

Although you get more ADAM for Harvesting the Little Sisters, it isn't necessarily a good thing because if you save them, every 3 or so that you do save, you will get a gift of say 200ADAM and some ammo and stuff.

So basically:
Harvest = More ADAM right away
Save = Slightly less ADAM, but you get gifts.

It's better to save them and not harvest them.

I'm told that you get more Adam in the long run if you save the little sisters, from the gifts.

This is true... Every 3 Sisters you save, you get a present at a Gatherers Garden in the form of a Teddy Bear which has anything in it, plus A large amount of ADAM for you to whore.

Adam is a currency that is used to purchase PLASMIDS (or special powers). Adam is mostly found on the little sisters and while saving them only gives you a fraction of the amount of adam you can gain by killing them, you will recieve a certain amount of adam after you save a 3 sisters. Basically Money is for weapons, Adam is for special abilities, and Little sisters supply the adam.

ADAM is the currency you use to buy plasmids in bioshock. As for saving/killing them. If you save them, every once in a while you'll get a teddy bear containing a gift. I saved them throughout the game for the achievement, but killing them will get you ALOT more ADAM.
