Kids Could Do It! 2009-02-18 16:15:20 Reply

Ooo I have a grand idea. It's a fun thing for kids to do to get them off the couch and into the fresh air.

THREAT OF MASS CHILD SUICIDE

Now think about. What unearthly power could the world's children wield if they merely threatened world leaders with mass suicide across the globe. They could demand anything. ANYTHING. They represent not only the ultimate judge of innocence and righteousness but they also stand as the world's only real treasure. The Future. In this scenario, the future is truly in the hands of children. Besides the fact that behind this child's threat would be the threats from every single parent of the world, but it would also force world leaders to realize that without children, all the wars being fought, all the crisises being endured are in vain.

Just say for instance, that children around the world agreed that war is something this world could do without. reasonable scenario. This threat would stop virtually all major wars. It's a strategy that transcends national boundaries, imperialist power, even selfish ambition. Children have the power to hold the world for ransom in order to bring peace and morality to the world. They just need to agree to do it together.

This said, they can't actually kill themselves if the adults refuse. At least it will be a huge symbolic gesture.

The vast majority of children lack the means to cooperate and contact one another. Even if there was an accessible medium for communication, I doubt they'd be able to facilitate it properly, or even care about any cause they could come up with.

Besides, who wants to stop war anyway?

lol. We could just make more kids. Sure, we'd lose a generation, but then teachers would get a year off.

It's win-win.

Wow, this idea is being given serious thought... little bit creepy.

Do you admit that theoretically it could work?

Only if the kids were really willing to commit suicide for their cause. Because the adults of the world wouldn't believe them until they actually started doing it... so it's not something they could bluff.

Tis better to sit in silence and be presumed a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

I suppose every cause needs a martyr

Your mom does.....lamo.

....I don't agree with the whole threatening mass suicide thing, but I would agree that kids should be more in control of shit, I mean, to be the president of America you have to be pretty old, why?
Maybe its because old people have very little value of the lives of other since their own is running out.
Instead of wars, have the leaders er president er prime ministers, or whatever have a big fight with eachother or something, have em wrestle in a steel cage match n shit lol.

A threat of mass suicide could work for any group of people, not just kids, if the group was large enough.

Theoretically, it would be a good leverage point. If every child in the word stood up and threatened to kill themselves if the wars didn't end or whatever, then I think that would work pretty well in theory.

However, it's impossible.

There would have to be a leader system, a sort of mob rule. Most children, especially younger children, follow authority. They don't take initiative. They do what they're told, sometimes reluctantly, but they do it eventually one way or another.

So, there would have to be older, leader-like kids leading the whole operation and it's for this reason why this plan would never work. These leaders are like a government and the other children are like the citizens. There is an imbalance in power in this group. If the rest of the world just went in and knocked out the leaders, then the movement would fall apart.

Not only that, but like someone else already said, kids aren't exactly good at organizing one another.
