Oh what about a BBS purge? That would kill the topics, but it would take a load off the servers. Well, maybe that would be a bad idea, since users would whine about it with more spam threads.

That type of thing might work. All topics which don't have a good opening post are deleted, and the creator banned for 30 days, and it could be done every month or so, with poozy leading the group.

And just out of interest, how many threads that are currently in the system could and should be removed, ie: stuff that has'nt been touched for say 6 months or more. Both are possible and likely. I'm just playing Devil's advocate here. Due to the nature of the extremes people go to on this site, it'd always be wise for the owners to keep an eye out.

The only time I really see a bunch of relationship threads is around Valentine's.

It makes sense that it would be a subject of discussion once in a while, and even though it's sometimes annoying, I think the problem is more in the response to them than the existence of them. Generally speaking, of course.

I see tons of them all the time. They're fucking annoying. You're either making one to piss people off, or you're a fucking idiot who honestly wants advice, and you don't know of any socially responsible sites with people who aren't complete pricks. Newgrounds is not a site for people who aren't pricks. Being a prick is what this place is all about.

Also, older (been around longer, not age), higher level users tend to be role models for newer users. If you want to help change the fact that these threads get bad replies, reply to the thread with something constructive, instead of whining about it in threads like these.

Whining about it is going to do jack shit. Set an example.

When you're new to a forum, you tend model your behavior after the behavior of the more experienced members of the forum. If you want these forums to be better, set an example. At the least, your example is one more good post.
