The Fab Collab!

Hey boys and girls, anybody in the mood for a super happy fun collab? :]
This collab is all about living life with the Fab Aura (voting disposition,)
because it isn't just a pair of good looking colors, it's a way of life.

Who's in charge;
Me, MichaelHurst, and Duchednier
are the fabs in charge of this here shindig. :3

What to make;
The idea of this collab is to make something about
the semi-unique lifestyle of NG BBS Regulars with a Fab aura.
For instance, an acceptable movie would consist of
a man being considerably nice to everyone he meets
after he changed his aura to Fab (please make your own idea, though!)

The Specifications;
Version: Flash CS3, or CS4 for this month only (trial version - upgrade?)
Dimensions: 600px (w) x 350px (h)
FPS: 24

The Rules;
-All of the BBS Rules
-No Nudity, please. :]
-No Sprites whatsoever!
-Don't put your name in your flash, that will be done for you.
-Name your symbols with a unique prefix (ex. kg_MyGuy.)
-Have a good time! No trolling/mean posts allowed in this collab. :3

Creative Inspiration;
In addition, I wanted to try something new for this collab.
This is a bit of an odd topic, so I think it'd be neccessary to
make sure people have access to some inspiration for a good part. :]
So, at any moment, I encourage all of you to post something
I'd like to call Simple Creative Inspiration.
This can consist of a little sketch you made that
you feel is on theme, and who knows...it may give someone an idea.
I'll post a couple sketches in future posts. :]
You should as well!

Not really frequently asked questions, but I feel
these questions will show up as the collab is in session, so
let's answer them ahead of time. :]
Refer to this first whenever you have a question,
if this doesn't help, then ask somebody.

Do you have to be Fab to join this collab?
No! But your part must be on topic, and of course
you have to abide by all the rules as Fabs do,
including the part about having fun. :]

How many parts will there be? When are the parts due?
This will both be determined at a future date, based on
how many people show interest in making a part. :)

How will co-authors be determined?
The authors of the best submissions will be co-authored,
but if me or anybody else in charge feels that two
parts were equally as good, then who gets co-authored
will be determined by the character of the two authors.
Whoever is more fab gets it. :]

I cant think of anything! What now?
Chill out, and just relax a bit. :]
Something will come to mind sooner or later,
just check out some of the Creative Inspiration sketches
made in some of the posts, and remember that
good ideas often come when there isn't much on your mind.
(At least thats what I find, but I'm sure this applies to many people.)

No, I'm completely straight.
And (to the best of my knowledge :])
so are MichaelHurst, and Duchednier.
But this collab is not a matter of whether
Fab people are gay or not, and I'd say
Almost all fabs on NG are straight.

Hi. I would like to join, but I do not have any formal training nor talent in regards to drawing and animating. I am great with flash as a program, and I am fabulous. I am learning to use AS3 and have learned most rudimentary principles, with sufficient direction I should be able to accomplish about anything that's needed. Please, can I have a part in this? I'd like to officially become fabulous.

And, this looks fun. Plus, caring is conforming.

Not a problem,
Here's a quote from the NG FAQ;

"Aura
Q: What is an aura? What does it do? How is it determined?
A: An aura is a self-selected indication of a user's voting disposition. It was originally determined by one's voting habits but this is no longer the case. A user may select or alter his aura in his general configuration."

All of the auras are Neutral, Light, Dark, Evil, and of course... Fab. :]

realy quick can some one tell me like axacly wear to go to change my aura? i feal realy realy stupid... i went to the FAQ 3 times and currently in the WTF state... ben a newgrounds member for about a hour... or 3.

Hmm, well the typical collab contribution is an Animation.
So you give that a shot if you feel comfortable with it,
it doesn't have to be top notch. :]
But other than that, I'm not sure what you can do,
let me post more information on that separately.

Oh actually I just caught the CS3 or CS4 thing, is it okay if I stick with flash 8? I've used it for so long that I'm not giving it up until it becomes completely obsolete.

It doesn't matter if you have a lower version,
As long as you don't send it as CS4 when i can only open it in CS3,
which is not the case for you. Have fun, and you're in! :D

Hmm, I respect your efforts, but i would have loved it
if you would have asked me first before you made the preloader.
MichaelHurst is making a preloader game for a preloader
I planned on making, so everything menu-wise is (as of right now)
set and done, so if you'd like to make an actual part instead
that would be Fabulous. :3

I did like the preloader though, job well done. :]

Well you could certainly implement it into the preloader that I have so far! I bet, given the code, I could figure it out.
