That actually reminds me of the time I fucked-up my laptop. They told me where to get a 2.5" hard drive, but they didn't know that the thing needed SATA and not IDE.

First off, we aren't in a Depression yet, its a Recession.
Also, just because people are always at your Circuit City doesn't mean its the same everywhere. I live in the Midwest, and I have never seen anybody at any of the Circuit Cities that used to be here. Even when they had everything on clearance, people waited until stuff was at least 50% off before even going in.

For years now I've only been buying my electronics online unless it was something I wanted quick. I can see why they would go out of business.

Some of their liquidation prices are higher than Best Buy's regular prices, or at least their normal sale prices. If you have to get rid of your stock, you're already losing, give people a reason to buy it.
That's why they're going out of business.
