False.
According to Wikipedia, at least, the American forces numbered 20,000 soldiers with a further 230,000 militia, facing 12,000 British soldiers, 55,000 'loyalists' (probably also militia), around 30,000 Mercenaries (although it says citation is needed) and 5,000 natives.
Americans: 250,000.
British : 102,000.
So, yes, having the numerical advantage, the French navy making supplies or reinforcements difficult to non-existant for the British and knowing the terrain better, American won.
However it was not "a bunch of FARMERS" against "the whole British army", and to suggest so is ludicriously ignorant and skews the facts of the matter to the point of making any discussion fucking stupid.
