Saints Row 2 Respect

Whats the quickest way to gain respect inbetween missions in SR2? I just find myself just shooting gang members and driving around for long periods of time untill I can start another mission which gets really annoying. Any pointers?

Exactly. The side activities are the quickest and easiest way to build up your respect. Sure, shooting gang members and doing all those tricks with the vehicles helps, but they just don't build up your respect that quickly. Of course, you could get even more respect from those activities because of the clothing you wear, too. Make sure that most of your clothes contain one of the Saint's purple colors.

Activities.

Not only do they produce the most respect in the fewest amount of time, but every 3 completed stages unlocks a bonus to be used in missions.

Examples: Unlimited Pistol Ammo, Faster drop in Noteriety with gangs and cops, ability to sprint longer, etc...

Drug trafficking, mayhem, and heli assault always got the most respect for me. There's only 11 missions and 4 strongholds for each gang I can't remember how many other missions there are besides those but if you got like 40 in respect the amount of respect you get from killing gangs should be enough to finish the game.

The weirdest thing happened to me when I played SR2 yesterday. I got unlimited respect. No really, the number next to the respect bar is an infinity symbol. I don't know how this happened, but I had a lot of bars filled up and was doing a bunch of activities when it happened all of a sudden. I think it might be a glitch, has anyone else experienced this?

It's not a glitch. I've experienced it too. If you build up so much respect and go past having ninety-nine times the respect, it just goes to having infinity respect. I thought it was kind of weird why I wasn't getting any respect with my gang kills or activities.

But yeah, it's a normal part of the game.

Well here's the strange part to it. Usually, anything you do like gang kills or one of the driving stunts won't give you respect points if you've hit infinity. I have gotten some of those points, however, even when it did show my respect at infinity.

I'm guessing it could still drop. Maybe the infinity symbol only stands for the fact that you've achieved the highest level of respect possible in the game.
