What console will it be for? PS2? Gamecube? PSX? X-Box? What?

I'll have to second this wholeheartedly.

Well, the first big change to the Audio Portal will be a new admin system that will allow a much wider range of users to help validate submissions / authors. This way there won't be a huge waiting list. Hopefully once that is tackled, we'll have some other good features. :)

If I actually do buy a building, a lot of my money will be tied up in that... I do intend to have job openings, but they would be internship positions (with potential for bonuses & free meals, but no salary guarantee). We basically need as many people as possible to help manage the site... It has become an overwhelming chore. With more people, the site could be managed better than ever. I just can't pay a lot to have that done right now. :)

Will you take me for a co-op position next winter? Please? I'll be your friend and even feed Sherbert!

I used to be with it. Then they changed what it was.

Now what I'm with isn't it and what's it seems weird and scary to me.

It'll happen to you!

Newgrounds sounds like it will kick ass in 2004. i am looking forward to a lot of improvments. one thing i request though to see on NG is a better search because the search now is pretty bad. if i type in Pico to see all Pico games i get this other shit as well. so i look forward to a better search in 04.

I would like to see lowering the blam/protect score, that would be great! Haha.

Also I would like to see a more interactive audio portal. I think it is way too under-rated. I think you should change the format for the audio portal to the one current in the flash portal. That would be awesome.

Also make more levels so humantarget doesn't constantly raise the standards! Haha. I think BBS levels would be cool too. Make a seperate type of level depending on number of posts etc. and put a button at the bottom of BBS posts saying "was this helpful" like on the reviews! Then rate someones BBS level by that!

But hey, I'm talking out of my ass now. I bet all of that is impossible, haha.

P.S. That pop-up that appears after you vote is annoying! I can't see what the movie's score is without pestering myself to close it! Haha.

Thanks Tom.

At 12/27/03 12:03 PM, TomFulp wrote: I've read all of the responses so far to my last post (suggestions for NG in 2004). Here are some responses:

1) We haven't been maintaining the collections / showcase pages much for the past few months because we know we will have to "rebuild" them when the new dynamic collections system is launched. We should probably keep them better updated anyway, but it is easy to get stuck in the "lets just wait" mindset. When the new system launches, it will be much easier for us to personally maintain the games, toons, and other various collections. We will also be able to enlist help from admins, and Flash authors will be able to maintain their own series pages. Our system for cataloguing content will shoot through the roof when this launches.

I can't stress this enough! Ever since I first sstarted visiting newgrounds (a good 4 years ago), i hated how the collections were so rarely updated. Think about how many mario flashes there are on NG, and how many there are on the mario collection. I am incredibly looking forward to this!

The collections are updated more than you might think. The problem is there are so many of them that when one does get something new, no one notices. If there are 30 Mario entries and we add a new one, how many people would notice? :)

However, there is tons of content that needs organizing, and it's to much for Tom and I to take on with all the other stuff we have to do. The new system will really help us.

Yes, that would be great im not much of an artist myself but the audio portal needs to be more recognized, i think a new system with some new features and "music mods" would be a great idea and it would really put it on the map and let people hear peoples works

i cant wait to see just how much better the site will get over the next year. i dont really no why any one would want to go over to those other 'copycat' websites as you so eligantly put it... NG fo life!

Response to 2004 Updates 2003-12-28 01:19:17

I just wanted to say, in reply to your message about how users flock to other sites that i will stay at NG as long as it exists. It has been the #1 reason that i got into Flash, and becuase of my experience in Flash (I may not be the best animator) it got me a job. Thanks to Tom and Wade and everyone else who made NG possible. And again, I will stay here forever.

Bring back 11 EXP a day, like it used to be 3 years ago =]. Well it probably won't happen. Oh oh oh, Make a Top 50 Voting Power page! ........That's not gonna happen either, cause liljim doesn't like me and my crazy ideas. But I'm liking what I'm hearing so far.

Hey Tom good luck on AH. As a gamer I can understand why you want spend so much time on it. Good luck with everything, I'm sure you guys can get all of it done.

P.S. I'm in electronics so if I find anything I can make to help newgrounds out i'll get to work on it.

Pico 2 has seen long delays because Jose and I both have schedule conflicts - for a while Jose wasn't able to work on art, and for a while now I have been focused on making AH a reality. It has been my dream since an early age to make a console game, so this is a big deal to me!

And let's not forget the big bad DOMO-KUN 2! A huge project that will be, indeed! :)

Although it would take some work, making it its own small portal would be a good idea.

It would need to be displayed the way it is now, only have an extremly high deletion quota. It would delete itself in 6 weeks, or if it had a score lower than 2.50. after the first 100 votes.

Stay tuned for that - we already have all aspects of it pretty much covered. There won't be any blamming as such, but we do have a different system for the Alphas already in place. I'm looking forward to finishing it.
