I was thinking about mentality of the 'regular' NG user and it got me thinking.

Does the general attitude of the BBS influence mental heath disorders?

I wouldn't go as far as to say a disorder, but it certainly alters your state of mind. Much like the effects of a drug of some sort.

On the more impressionable users, maybe.

Others, probably not.

This is all going to depend on the person and the users around them.
Do they like taunting the person?
Do they constantly mock him?
Do they tell them to constantly die or get off?

then maybe that's the reason the user gets spiteful and pissed in the real world and kills people

There have been a few NG members who died though..

I've been coming here for nearly 4 years, and I'm not yet insane.

Yet.

I like to go into factories and kill massive amounts of people, but that is not because I watch Madness flashes, it's just who I am.

The sanity of the average NGer is about normal. Their intelligence, on the other hand, is questionable.

If anything, visiting this BBS for a while will probably make you more cynical. And if you're not turned off immediately, then your sense of humor might become a bit more crude as well. Maybe.

However, more than the general attitude, I think the addictive nature of the BBS has a greater effect. Getting addicted to an internet forum isn't good for your health. Fo rlz.

This is why even after school is over I get up for about 45 minutes and have to do something and after I feel a bit better knowing I got a bit of excersize in although I do have to run around the school literally to get to class on time.

It can certainly exacerbate your insanity to a significant degree if you are already insane to begin with.

At least, that's how my experience has been over a period of 5 years.

Sometimes, if have the need of rounding up most people in here, and exterminate them all.

Getting rid of them, and cleaning the gene pool.

That might answer your question.

some of the stuff i read on here makes me depressed, angry, or just feel dumber, and the long term effects...well... there not all that great (although 4chan probably fucked with me a bit...). however influencing/causing insanity, i dont think so. personality definitely, but not causing insanity.

Newgrounds (and the internet) have mindfucked me hard. I have no problem shouting Jew and Black jokes at full volume across a crowded classroom. Fun times always ensue.

As far as my personality, I might consider myself a little more perverse because of Newgrounds, but insane?

NG influences NOTHING, other than to be an animator, artist, audiophile, or spammer. Your metailty about this is not only insignificant, but it is wrong. Supremely wrong.

Hey.. We're not /b/tards. Give us some credit.

Besides, it's not about what sites the person goes on just their own mental state. If they're fucking crazy they're fucking crazy. No outside influence needed.

Not really. I mean, if you have already gone insane, then Newgrounds shouldn't be a problem. If a website made you insane, most likely it was 4chan, and you were stupid enough to go there. Newgrounds, though immature, is safer than 4chan.

If someone went insane because of Newgrounds, I would hate to see the damage 4chan would do.

I have not been influenced by NewGrounds in a mental way as I've been insane and a weirdo for as long as I can remember, way before memes and other idiosyncrasies of the Internet.

It's somewhat silly to link a website to mental health disorders, but it could be true in some cases. NG should hire a team of nice men in white coats to survey the BBS to control the problem if there's an outburst or if somebody cracks or something.

This is what happened to me. I spend time on here and soon enough I've become an extreme wise ass. But most of that lies in my family influence.
