NG music is kinda...dissappoi nting

It just seems kinda odd to me that the music on newgrounds isn't appealing to me >.>
I know it's kinda harsh comparing it to all the hit rock bands and real bands but still...i can only shrug at the top 3 entries.
Is the audio portal only for cheesy-sounding musicmakers (programs)
Or are there actual musicians who can play instruments?

and of course i shouldn't even be here complaining because i would be a hypocrit if i downright said everything sucked...
but i can't say much of anything until i get a electric guitar >.>
i guess techno isnt for me? >.>'

It's not the musicians, it's the portal itself.

I haven't submited anything in a long time, but I know I stoped because it was pointless. The same people vote zero on everything that isn't theres and your song goes to page 7 where nobody hears it before it ever gets a chance of getting any play.

There's no rewards for voting or reviewing music so there's no reason to monitor it or go there yourself. So the Audio Portal turned into a small gathering of the same users just voteing everybody elses shit down in order to survive.

Maybe things have changed... I don't know. If I submit stuff now, it's more for cheap "copyright" reasons and less because I think people are actually going to hear it here.

There is good music. But the audio portal is automated, making the audio-bot choose songs according to peoples votes. I don't like the current top three. But a while ago, the top 5 was so amazing, was like my ears were in shock of the perfection and amazing music being played. There is really good music on NG, you just have to find it.

You are obviously un-experienced in the Audio portal. those top 30 are not really the top 30. They are based off of those that have the highest scores at the end of each week. If you want the REAL top 30 go to these genres and play some. Those have tons of votes to back them up while some on the top 30 list on the audio portal have maybe 40 votes... which only tell us that that song got lucky for a short period of time. The reason all the popular songs dont get on that list is because of tasteless 0 bombers.

NG music is dissapointing? I couldn't disagree more.

I haven't really been in the not electronic sections, but there's the occasional catchy song that I download. I'm more into that kind of stuff though. Someone who's into rock and shit like that might not find the type of music they like as easily though. Remember that these people are making music for free, and they aren't paid to.

There a are a few good bands and musicians over here in the audioo portal. I know that people use a lot of synth and techno music... and that seems to be what does well, but there are instrument players among us, of verying talent and skill mind you, but we are still kicking around.

Various new artist use the portal to get comments on their work. Its a way to improve, same as in the flash portal.

Some are still newbies. But there is some real amazing work on the portal aswell. Just take a look.
