Hello people. I got a bit of a complicated problem here and wondering if anybody has a solution.

I have a sound file in my FLA which I would like on my computer as an audio file - I currently don't have it seperate from the flash, as it is the audio track to a video I imported into Flash (and doing so I chose the option 'split audio from video').

Anyway I can get it out of Flash or will it just not let me?

--

If you have no solutions for the above problem, you could help me with the original problem. I recorded a video on my camera, and I want to take the sound from the video, not the images aswell with it. Is there a simple way of splitting it? I thought maybe Movie maker would have some easy solution but apparently not.

Cheers for any help.

You could
A: decompile the swf and take the sound file
B: play the sound while recording it

A: When you decompile does it become a seperate file though or does it remain in the FLA? I have a decompiler somewere I believe so this may be the answer I was lookin' for..
B: Ah, would do but I don't have a mic, which is why I recorded with my camera in the first place.

You could try downloading Audacity, setting it to "Wave Out" or "Stereo Mix", and recording the audio while you play it.

Very simple. Download Audacity. If you go into Edit/Preferences/, you can choose you input sound mic whilst you record. You can set it to your speakers so that you can flawlessly record any sounds on your computer. So simply record your sound seperately, cut out the unwanted streaming, and lo! You have a beautiful emulation of your sound file.

The above solution works well, all though you might want to make sure msn messenger and aim are off ... unless you like the sounds of doors slamming and opening.

You will probably also need to mess with the volume levels and stuff.. i find that setting it to record what you hear records it at lower volume than normal.

I use VirtualDub for audio/video ripping,
works like a charm. It's free, too. :3
I know it works with AVIs, but I'm not sure about anything else...
