When you do the Seach Engine and seach for hentai almost all the hentai's status is Under Judgement and it has been that way for too long!!! Please do something about it!

how about having the option to download certain games/movies off the site?? i know i dont always want to wait for the site to load and have to find the flash on the site just to play one game or watch a flash movie.

well go search for a tutorial that talks about downloading movies, if he did that anyways bandwidth problems would arise.

You know how you can make MyYahoo or something like that ... make a MyNewgrounds, where you can put your favorite flash movies in one little folder or something, and u can have a variety of things u can put and make ur own homepage, like u can add how much bandwidth ur using at the moment, or how many people are currently viewing your website, you know cool stuff like that, and you can add them, rearrange them, take them out, bear in mind i dont know much about making things like that, i dont know if its outlandishly difficult or easy ... but .. well.. u asked for our opinions... oh... add site music like VGDC :)

How about making good on the no pop-up ad promise I was just bombarded with 3 pop-ups upon entering your site.

I would like to see a chatroom where we could talk about flash video and share our ideas. In addtioion the chat rooms should allow thge use of webcams. And the chats should be free.

I would also like to see links to certain types of flash vidoes/games such as Anime and videogame parodies instead of having to use the search bar everytime.

I dont know if anyone posted this because im to lazy to read all the reviews but make Newgrounds XHTML compatable. If you dont know what it is, its the type of web browser a cell phone uses. I myself would be on more if i could use my phone. Please take this idea into consideration.

wow really? but anyways xhtml is almost the exact thing as html, but php is a hell of a lot better. than any other in my opinion.

I still see many outwar spammers using string manipulating tactics to post into reviews. (something like
http://www.outwar$$.com/......and so on)

How about either one of two things:

1. Automated scanner to search for common manipulated strings of outwar and generate an auto report on them if they match.

or

2. A template like page to report outwar spammers. Sort of like blowing the whistle but for review spammers

Sounds interesting, but you really need to explain what you mean. I imagine you're referring to graffiti, rap and break-dance style battles?

If so, I can't imagine how it'd work, since it'd lose the real-time aspect. If you're able to see what your 'opponent' is doing and respond to that (as you can with any of the 4 hip hop 'disciples'), that would make for a meaningful interaction.

I can't imagine how you'd bring a similar aspect to making Flash or drawing pictures.

Of course, if you had something else in mind, I'd love to hear what it was.

I can think of reasons why an edit would be a bad idea. (It's annoying if someone replies to a comment made in a post, and it is later edited. Also, you shouldn't really be able to take back stuff you say - you can apologise, but you shouldn't be able to change history if you see what I mean. That may not make much sense, but I hope you understand my meaning.)

However, a preview function would be truly excellent.

I don't know if I'd bother using it much, but it might be nice for when you want to try out tags and would like to check they'll work properly.

Apart from the work involved in creating the function, and a slight bit of extra bandwidth consumption (for when people preview then post, rather than just posting) I can't see any disadvantages.

Hmm... actually, if the extra bandwidth consumption was significant enough to actually affect Flash downloads, I'd rather it wasn't implemented.

I doubt it'd be that much though. (Although I'm not amazingly well informed on the subject, and it involves a lot of guesswork about how many folk would bother to preview. - I'd guess a tiny percentage.)

My NG-related wishlist (only including stuff that can realistically be directly brought about by the staff).

- a preview functions for the bbs (depending on how much bandwidth this would consume).

- the alpha portal that has been announced sounds truly excellent. I hope it comes about soon and lives up to my expectations. What would be truly excellent would be if authors could set questions for willing testers to answer. And the author could make the answer either multiple choice, or free response.

Although I don't really expect that. It would be truly excellent though.

- more e-mail notifications. I'm signed up to receive weekly status e-mails, as well as being notified of Flash products and of Flash work.

I'd assume that the weekly updates are something similar to the old daily top 5 you used to send out, with the Flash that recieved awards or got into a chart that week. I haven't recieved anything like that for ages! (At least 6 months.)

I get e-mails when I submit stuff though, so the e-mail's working...

Also, it'd be nice to have an explanation of what these are. Maybe you could have a little question mark beside them, which you click to open up a small explanation in a new window.

I'd also like to be able to sign up for more e-mailed updates. I'd like to be e-mailed when one of my favourite authors submits a new piece of work (after it's survived judgement of course).

I'd like to be e-mailed when one of my pieces of work has gotten a new review.

I'd like to get e-mailed the weekly top 20 and I'm sure some would like the daily top 5.

To make it less costly on the server, all this could be put into the (seemingly currently MIA) weekly e-mail. It'd be wonderful if we could select from a list which of the above stuff we'd like to be notified about.

Or just include it all! It's still just one e-mail and a bunch of extra text wouldn't exactly make it that much larger.

As long as the info was clearly present, it wouldn't be a bother for users to isolate the information they were interested in.

I appriciate the fact that most of my ideas would take a a lot of bandwidth, and that "changing history" isn't a very good idea! (The Grandfather Paradox). However, I still think that the preview button for the BBS is a good idea - I doubt many people would use it after the first week or so, unless it is, like you said, to chech code.

Most of the people that are replying to this post are on they're first visit to NG, and are suggesting stuff that is already here!

Some more suggestions
1. The option for the autor to upload a downloadable .exe if the score movie is in the "Top 50 of All Time".

2. (This is pretty much the same thing I suggested in another post) A automatic system that Blams or Protects a game/movie that still has under 200 votes in a week. This will get rid of the damned "Under 200 Votes" list.
