Nintendo is awesome! The NES and SNES will always be my favourite systems. They had the best games ever and will always have the best games. Nothing will ever be able to touch those two systems for games. N64 had some great games like Goldeneye or Mario Kart 64. I'm not a fan of Gamecube though.

agreed. gc doesnt have much going for it now. zelda was ok, but it doesnt really have any big titles coming out anytime soon

There has been many big titles so far on the cube. Just no game nowadays to me seems to have any replay value ( only smash bros and F-Zero GX i came back to) I know there doesn't seem to be too much games I'm wanting for it in the future( There isn't too many games I'd be looking for on any console at the moment) but so far, out of my pile ( i cant be assed naming them) I have 10 Big titles that are EXCLUSIVE. So it does actually have quite a bit going for it at the moment.

Without Ninty all the other companies would be lost for ideas, improvements and innovations.

That is completely wrong. Nintendo are fools, the decision to use mini-disc games instead of normal DVD discs was one of the worst things they have done. Nintendo have been going downhill ever since the over-rated Nintendo 64, which used cartridge games instead of leaping forward in technology by using CDs.

I will admit that I still own a SNES, and it is bloody good. Probably one of the best systems ever. I also own a FamiCom, which is cool. The GameCube doesn't appeal to me at all, most of the games suck. It may have a few good titles on it, but the system doesn't meet my requirements which is to have great racing games (which is why my PS2 owns). Also, the GC doesn't have a DVD player, and it can't play audio CDs (from what I know, correct me if I'm wrong).

And who remembers that Zelda video clip from ages back where Link fought Ganondorf, and it had the slickest graphics ever. It turned out that the game would be nothing like that at all, but rather a cel-shaded, childish looking game that probably turned a lot of people off. Nintendo was a great force for console gaming for a long time. If it weren't for the NES, I doubt we would have ever recovered from the video game crash of the early 80s. People say the SNES was so great, but it wasn't as much of an innovation as the NES was, it was merely Nintendo's response to the competition it was getting from Sega's Genesis and Neo Geo's Turbo Graphix-16. It just ended up having all the better games because it had the Nintendo name to back it. Then along game Sony's Playstation and it went down for them from there. But Nintendo has one saving grace, the Game Boys. Nintendo's hold on the portables market is pretty tight. I'm looking forward to the war that's sure to happen between the GBA and Sony's PSP.

There isn't a DVD player and CD player on it, do you know why? Because it was designed to play computer games and no more. Playing Cd's on your console aint much of a bonus. By the time the PS2 has laoded up track one I could have listened to 5 tracks on a nifty new invention called a CD player! No one has one of those.

I know the cartridges weren't such a good idea because how expensive they were to make, but they did come with thier own memory storage and the N64 had no loading times because of the cartidges.. With the amount I played consoles that saved me many hours of laoding screens.(which its rival PS had lots of)

What is so wrong about the mini DVD's? They look rather cool. They hold less memory but that doesn't seem to be a problem as you don't see PS2 converted games over 2 mini DVD's for the GC do you.

The gameplay more than makes up for the fact that it does not have the best graphics engine in the world. Too much emphasis is put on the graphics these days, but when you really get into a game, the gameplay is much more important.

Don’t forget the Metroid and Mario series. And last time I checked Smash Bros. Melee was one kick ass party game. Plus Nintendo is (finally) trying to appeal to an older audience with more mature game chices. Killer 7 looks like it’s going to be great.

That clash of the titans video I believe was made overnight just to show off the graphics that the gamecube can pull off. Poeple suddenly started thinking that was a clip from a new Zelda game.
That video is damn cool though.
So because of the graphics on Winwaker which also is some of the slickest on the consoles you think its childish. It may be easier than the others but it isn't for kids, its for all ages. Just because its a cartoon doesn't mean its for kids.

Nintendo aren't going down either. At one point when the GC was getting slaughtered in the market all across the globe they appeared to be going down yes? But they were the only company out of the 3 that were making profit from there console( not including GBA)

Playstation did well because it was originally a Nintendo console.

I didn't like the N64.

GameCube is the best console since SNES.

If it weren't for Mario&Luigi, there would only be about three good games on GameBoy.

I don't like the X-box.

The mini-discs are better, even if I could listen to CDs and watch DVDs in a DVD-based GameCube I would not-- nearly everyone (including myself) has a DVD player (or more), which are actually well made (ie not made by Sony). The mini-discs allow the GameCube to load quickly and stops piracy. I'm glad I don't have to pay $50 to get a DVD player to work on my game console, unlike X-box.

GameCube games to look forward to: Mario 128, Metroid Prime 2, Wario Ware Inc, Zelda: Four Swords, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes

No console company will release a light gun for a console. The reason for this is because video games were one of the things that got blamed for the whole Columbine thing a few years back, and they don't want that bad rap again.

Not quite. Sure a lot of games are rip-offs of other games, but if you think that they're all rip-offs of Mario or Zelda then you're either stupid, blind, or haven't played any games.

Your ass would be selling well too if you undersold all your competitors by more than a hundred dollars. Just think of it this way. When one thing costs $80 and all it's competetitors cost around $180, there's usually a reason that it's so cheap.

Or how about we point the finger at who's really to blame? The schools that allow the incessant bullying of kids to the point where they break and do that kinda shit? The parents who should have been there to teach their kids how to deal with such bullying in a productive way, or even how to stand up for themselves? A few things you have wrong DopeStar. The playstation was going to be an add on for the SNES. Therefore it was a Nintendo console. I dunno about the developing teams or whatever but most likely Nintendo would of had a lot to do with the development of the playstation.
And yes there is another Nintendo console. Rumours were going around saying that the N5 might even be released before its competitors/ or they will all be released at the same time(that would be interesting) You obviously don't know didly squat about Nintendo if you didn't know that the PS was going to be an add on to the SNES and that they are making another console (obviously)
