So far, this guy has submitted 68 flashes in the past month. And all these flashes are the same swf, just restructured with music he didn't create. Submitting several flashes of pictures tweened to music is terrible, an offense which quickly leads to their deletion, but a static screen with several songs is great.

The only virtue of this is the songs, considering such that his flash set has been used so many times that saying "he put effort into creating it" is no longer valid.

This whole thing reeks of the same set-up Afro-Underscorestud had with the Hitler series, where he used the same flash hundreds of times, and yet this has even less effort put into its conception.

All this begs the question, "why?" He doesn't get enjoyment from programming or visually designing this shit, or else he would've used more designs. He doesn't do it for the opinions of others, because he doesn't respond to reviews. He doesn't do it to bring attention to the artists, because then not only would he not crank out 2-a-day, he would put a glimmer of effort into his flashes.

So why? Because he wants to be on the top uploaders, or rather, he wants the stats. I wouldn' put it past a man who makes several newsposts a day, and has several thousand BBS posts, to upload flashes just for the sake of having a high flash count. He's already uploaded 224 songs over the past three years, the majority being simple loops, loops that often hardly even loop.

Now whats the saddest part? This has been done before. Seriously, I distinctly remember that during this summer, one man made about 50 movies in the same format before the entire collection was deleted. All he did was take 5 songs from the audio portal and put them directly into the flash.

So why is this allowed to continue? Do the admins know? Obviously the "Portal Watch" should be able to notice someone uploading 2 flashes a day for the past 34 days. Is it because he has high stats?

Well whatever, I've said my peice, and I would have and will PM Wade and Tom about this, but I felt laying it flat under the nose of the BBS would be a nice first step.

This is NG. Half the site is dumb fucks who spam in one way or another. I agree with you that something should be done, but honestly, the staff doesn't care about how much of a shithole the flash portal is, so I guess we are shit outta luck. Nice to see that someone else is bothered by it.

hahaha, should have seen that coming. Let me tell you something about by friend Cyberdevil- he is THE single biggest stat whore on the site, LOL. But he's a decent guy if you get to know him. His submissions don't break any rules, he doesn't use any illegal mass voting techniques, and he been around NG for quite a while. If he were doing anything wrong he'd have been dealt with by now.

Besides spending as much time here as possible racking up as many numbers in all categories as possible, he's also an amateur music maker, web master and learning Japanese at university. He's an all around regular guy and also pretty friendly, certainly not your run-of-the-mill annoying spammer. Just let well enough alone on this one and pick your battles better in the future.

Chances are they're stat whores who wont risk NOT getting their precious B/P points, so they just vote 5 because they know everybody else does, and everybody else knows that they will do it, so they vote 5 too.

Well lets see, I would say his movies are the work of other people (being that they rely solely on the music of others), with the only effort on his part to be lumping it together in the same format each time.

I would say that after being reused so many times, his original work has become a public FLA. Something reused and modified time and time again.

The same arguements that came up against Afro-Underscore apply here.

Lock Daveb0t for changing his name to "Faggot the Hedgehog"
Delete Zombie-Army for manipulating the co-author bug
Delete all of Cereal's flashes for leaving offensive commentary
Delete Taylor for making a movie about Wade's wife
And in the greatest stroke, find grounds for deletion for stealing awards, then how come submitting for the count is not a viable offense? You can't say this is harmless fun when you are willing to take such harsh actions against so many people.

If you break the rules to unfairly gain a little icon and a week's worth of attention, your account will be deleted. And yet if you submit tons of flashes with no redeeming qualities, thats fine. Maybe you should put that in the rules. "Stealing awards is bad, but raking up stats is ok"

One of the big features of this site is the stats people can earn. People who cheat (see icean) at gaining stats are dealt with. Fact is, CyberDevil does have to put some effort into his submissions, so what if he's a stat whore? He isn't cheating the rules of the site.

I don't know what cna be done to speed things along, put his flashes in the review complain threads? it helps if he flames and insults his viewers

2.) The reason there's no point to this thread is because, we all know about the spam problem.
We don't need anyone pointing that out. If the admins have a problem with it, they'll take care of it. All we can do is vote zero, that's it. So, making a thread complaining about it isn't going to do any good.

I am not comparing cyberdevil's actions to those listed, rather I am saying people have been deleted and locked for reasons more trivial and circumstantial than "upload tons of movies". In fact your aruguement falls into two places "he's a cool guy" and "he doesn't break any rules because people vote the movies to pass.

No one, and I repeat NO ONE massvotes submissions past judgement anymore. All, if not the extreme majority passes without any tangible margine of interference by the author. And yet vast amounts are deleted anyways without breaking expressed rules, most rulings determined by unspoken implied ones. So saying "its ok because it passes" is the kind of bullshit Wade would swat down when any person confronted him with it.

I was rather saying with the award stealing comparison that vying for such a stat is wrong, yet uploading tons of movies is ok when its done by the right people. Any regular person submitting two flashes a day would be dealt with quite swiftly.

Actually Afro used a different song in the second part of each flash. So as it stands to logic, he put not only the "effort" into picking music, but also the "effort" of editing Hitler and the background. I guess we should be vying for a return of the series.

Without a way for users to moderate the portal after a flash has passed judgement this will never change.

He's doing it to get into the top 10 uploaders, so he can masterbate to submitting that many flash most probably. Got bored of jerking it to the large amount generic reviews and his Sup. Commander icon.

He might be a nice person when you talk to him, but then so are many of the 'spammers' people hate when you talk to them. His submissions are less entertaining than a loop of a dancing cock, a dancing cock is atleast animated.

E-drama is pretty amusing to be fair though, just wanted to be a part of it.

The simplest explanation is that: "he isn't breaking rules, nor really attacking/harming anyone." That's why it's justified.

He's just popular and isn't breaking the rules. If people find it good, it passes with no questions asked after.

And then the contrast between here and here is something worth noting.

The diffrence between both the BPB flash and afros is that they actually did something to them, be it editing or actually some animation. Cyberdevil has just taken things from the audio portal and thrown some buttons in, making it worse.

People think that Cyberdevil is doing a good thing for the audio portal by doing this, that's why they haven't complained about it. He might not be breaking the rules but that doesn't stop it being spam.

He's not doing it for the sake of the audio portal, he's doing it for personal gain and attention, all spammers want attention, no exceptions.
