So here we go.
I was at my friend's party yesterday, with a ton of other people I knew, and up until about 8:45 the evening was going rather well. Everyone was having a good time, hanging out, playing GH, doing pretty much whatever, but then, one of my friends pulls out a nerf gun. Of course, we all go to town with this, we're shooting each other with it, I grabbed it and shot my girlfriend's friend, we laugh, she throws the dart back, it's all good.
So, a few minutes later, we're in the living room, with the sea of other people, and she puts her hand on the nerf gun (presumably so she can shoot me with it), and says "Give it to me." I playfully said no and she started yanking on it harder. I thought we were having fun, her, trying to pull it away, and me, absent-mindedly holding on, because she's getting nowhere trying to rip the thing out of my hands.
But then, she starts digging her nail into the smallest knuckle of my finger. I look at her, giving her sort of a "what the hell are you doing?" face, but she continues to jam her fingernail into my knuckle. (I later found she made it bleed and I'm looking at the cut right now). When she realizes that that's not going to get her anywhere, she makes a jab for my midsection. I still hold on, because I thought by this point we were still playing around. When she lifts he knee as if she's about to go for my nuts, I look at her and shake my head, no, and she lowers it.
However, she moves on to something else. She then proceeded to grab my index finger, and bend it off the nerf gun, but isn't satisfied once it's off. No, she starts bending back even further. She wasn't trying to get my fingers off the stupid little thing, she was trying to get me to give and let go. By this point, she had my finger so far back I could literally feel it start to go. My finger was on the verge of breaking. So what did I do? I panicked.
I punched her in the face.
Of course, after that, she ran off crying to the bathroom, my girlfriend and her friends trailed behind, and everyone who didn't care high-fived me and told me I was doing a good thing or something. Apparently, I made her nose bleed. I kept telling everyone not to congratulate me, and that I'd done nothing good, but they really didn't seem to care.
Once my girlfriend came out of the bathroom, her friend behind her with some ice on her cheek, she didn't say a word to me. I could see she'd been crying too, and that I wouldn't be able to talk to her, so I grabbed my coat, told her I was going for a walk, and if she wanted to talk to me, to come find me.
