A lot of people are obsessed with the idea of superhumans but there's no rule that says superheroes and supervillains have to be superhuman.

So what sets non-powered superheroes apart from action heroes?

They pretty much do the same things.

I always thought the super- was because they're more than humans... Because even Batman has a superpower: he has a superhuman perseverance.

A superhuman is an entity with intelligence or abilities exceeding normal human standards.

-adjective
1. above or beyond what is human; having a higher nature or greater powers than humans have: a superhuman being.
2. exceeding ordinary human power, achievement, experience, etc.: a superhuman effort.

Batman doesn't have superpowers, he's a peak-level human but his skill level and ability level is above ordinary.

Action heroes are buff but they don't wear special costumes.

An action hero in a costume is a superpower-less superhero, essentially.

The difference is that Iron Man and Batman use technology and Superman and Flash have powers. Derrrrrrr.

I'm not cool enough to have a nice sig.

Super hero is just an extension of 'hero', the super suggests they have powers thus a powerful hero. Action Heroes are just normal people or super people who do things the 'action' way and are heroic for it.
