for most of us, in school, we get these books we need to read in english class / writing class. from "Shades of gray" to "to kill a mocking bird" , or from "freedom writers diary" to " Anne Frank " , there have been books we loved and books we've hated.
What are some books you remember reading in school maybe a year or more back?

The Cay is all I can remember from last year, it was about some old Jamaican and a blind kid.

Even though everyone else hated it, I still love Catcher in the Rye.

But so do many serial killers. Coincidence?

Your in college and you are reading tale of two cities? I read that book in 10th grade man. I would say the best book that I have ever read was suggested to me by my tenth grade teacher it is called The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It was an absolutely amazing book and it's kind of a higher level book but the way it is written it just kind of flows and it is really hard to put the book down.

I have to read 6 novels this year.

6 MOTHER FUCKING NOVELS BY THE END OF THE YEAR.

So far, the only one that we've read is The Great Gatsby, but we're just now starting on The Awakening, by Kate Chopin.

I stole a lot of the books from my school. But the only one I liked reading was The Crucible. Rest were garbage but there's something about books I can't resist so I stole them anyway.

I actually like most of the stuff we're assigned to read in school. My favorite out of all of them would have to be the Odyessy. I mean, what other book are you going to find that has gods seducing, tricking, and battling a single man and his crew?

Yeah, I read that in the 5th grade. It's pretty good.

The only novel that I remember reading was Animal Farm in HS. I'm sure there were more but that's the only one I really recall. Also, I remember reading where the Red Fern Grows in Middle School.

The life of Beatie Beau - this was a fucking horrendous book to read I must say.
The Giver- Excellent book, quite enjoyable.
Lockie Leoard- Typical teen book, enjoyable but ordinary.
Deadly, unna?- Some shitful, sad excuse for a book
Lord of the Flies- brilliant read.
The Village by the Sea- pretty damn crapful.
Emma - nothing needs to be said.

Some High School books I swear were written as a torture device.

I too have read To Kill A Mocking Bird. I like the part where the trial took place (even though in the story Tom was wrongfully accused of rape, Atticus was able to show what kind of man Bob was behind closed doors). Just comes to show you: Even though when all hope seems lost, you must stand strong, and take on challenges!

To Kill A Micking Bird was a fucking atrocious book. The style in writing is pathetically dull and uninspiring and while the premise sounds quite interesting, it successfully fails to administrate any sort of redeeming quality about itself and make it interesting for anyone.
Anyone who likes the book is instantly pitied in my eyes.
It is THE most overated, shitty piece of literature since fuck knows; nothing's been as low as it ever which is probably a good thing.
