Anyone can say anything, but you know that song was changed for political correctness.
Funny how you manage to discredit your own sentence within the span of itself. Anyway, not everyone's as cynical as that. If they say they weren't changing it for political correctness, that's enough for me. What would it take to prove it to you? Would you actually have to see the book/song/whatever in question to believe that there's a pirate theme? Do you believe they have a motivation to lie to the public about whether or not they made something politically correct on purpose? There's no capitalistic motivation... apparently they're already under contract to produce this in the first place.
Every one of you is in such a rush to believe whatever you want about the way things are. You cry conspiracy at the drop of a hat. WHO GIVES A SHIT!? The drunken-sailor is not going to be changed, EVER. It's one of those cultural folk songs that's been passed down for generations.
