The following submission called, Metal Gear Egoraptor is a parody created by Ghost225.

As many didn't quite enjoy the parody that much, I was reviewing it today, and noticed it looked vaguely familiar -- So I YouTubed it and found Egoraptor's Metal Gear Awesome is Not On YouTube submission.

If you look at the animation, it's traced exactly from that video, which is really disappointing =(

why. its possible to draw it exactly like that without tracing.

also the fact that it is using the same animations of the thing its trying to parody is the point of the movie... its a parody of ego using that public service announcement to sell his shit.

this parody is taking a piss at it and it wouldnt work if it was like totally unique animation. seriously, its stupid to flag stuff like this. Its not supposed to be a serious entry or a grand effort at something oscar-worthy.. hes just makin fun of ego with his own work, big deal.

Sprite movies are made for ripping, basic drawings and animation aren't. People make sprites to make parody animations with.. People KNOW that those people ripped those sprites.. With animation, it seems to be different.

I'm sure theres the odd sprite artist from Nintendo that feels cheated that there hard worked on characters are being raped by the internet and they get no dimes.

I wasn't taking about sprite movies ripping each other, try the sprites being ripped off there games :S

If its a parody of a certain artist than I think anyone with half a brain could tell it isn't his original idea or art form ;)

I understand that people know it's not his idea or art form, but what triggers my mood is that he had the nerve to TRACE basically the whole animation scheme rather than animating it himself... He shouldn't of just traced it and dubbed his own voice in there, that's kind of like plagiarism in a way.

ah and how do you know that "thief" didn't just "look" at egoraptors shit? maybe hes an amazing artist and can exactly replicate art just by looking at it. you never know.

3 years ago does't really change anything now does it :P 3 years from now that guy could say the same thing. And I wasn't saying you traced it. it was more so about how it looks exactly the same. which is the point. trace or not its copying how you copy shouldn't change much.

Maybe that guy didn't trace it. Maybe he used the image as a reference(awesome series isn't really that detailed art wise).

Point is don't lose sleep over this because he ripped an art style and copied it in some way or another. We all do it in the early stages - some in the late stages. It's a form of learning and even you have copied other's work ;) no ones safe. :P
