I haven't been part of the movie scene this year but the game lineup is quite impressive. Many of those games I've played too.

Well, I've had a look at the quality of submissions, which I think is certainly up on 2008, might I add. I've got a personal top 3 for each, which I will list in no particular order:

Top 3 Games:

Castle Crashing The Beard- Just pure original insanity. What more could you want when you're trying to take the piss out of Tom's new face fungus.

Mastermind: World Conqueror - Seriously, TheSwain is one of the best talents on Newgrounds now. His series not only explores the comical side of how the evil super genius should be, but also that of the henchmen and even the bases that you claim as your own throughout this intricately detailed game.

Gemcraft - Awesome strategy game, which pits your wits against a lot of powerful monsters that are rampaging across the kindgom. Maybe it does get a little samey after a while, with the powers you gain making it a little easy by the finish, but the plot twist was well worth the wait. I can't wait for Gemcraft II

Top 3 Movies:
Fallen Angel - This animation and the way it stepped forward reminded me of the profound effect seeing Adam Phillips' work first had upon me. The bar has been raised with this piece.

Bambee - A modern classick, this piece reminds you of the good old days of Newgrounds. Sure, the animation quality and penache isn't going to compete with FA, but the writing style is perfect for this kind of award winning praise.

Jerry in the Closet - A worthy winner of the Halowe'en contest, this could well be the creepiest funny flash I've seen in about 2 years. I think that it shows just how far some of the users are willing to go to make a quality flash movie that shocks, amuses and amazes without having to feel the need to draw cocks all over it.

I would have voted for Mastermind in here as well, but with Swain already up there for best game, I couldn't really... much.

Still, if he wins 3 tanks - best flash, best game and best user, I'll be happy :P

There are some amazing submissions in the running this year. "Fallen Angel" was very rightfully nominated (I'm rooting for it to win), as well as "There She Is".

"These Pancakes are Tiny" and "Walk in the Woods" are also very fun films, though probably not winner material.

I'm disappointed that nothing from Sexual-Lobster's "Angry Dog" series was nominated, or from glenbw's "Tsunami" (my personal favourite series of the year, especially the "prequels").

And I think "Bambee" is just terrible.

Pretty good picks for each section.
But March 6th? Awww... That's a month away. :(

I'm hoping the best for "There she is!" (haha, all three new ones got in) and "Fallen Angel".

Not so sure about the games though.

It amuses me how people cant tell the difference between animation and rotoscoping.

I don't mind that the date when the winners are supposed to be announced has been changed. Although, this year looks to be more unpredictable in terms of who will win.
