Censored?
I just read the hate mail section, and learned that some people are idiotic enough to be against Newgrounds. Imagine what they must think of porn sites.
So lets imagine that governments came together and searched the internet, overnight all torrents, porn, excessively violent/"wrong" pages were all removed. If you were caught trying to put these pages back up you could be fined or worse.
Do you think that could ever happen?

That.
Most people actually don't know it, but there is a lot of censored websites everywhere.
Hell, even removing a website from the search engines would make sure that no one ever find it.

Every hacking group on the internet would be turned against the government. Not a very smart thing to do.

As long as we live in the land of the free (porn), then the Internet shall not be censored.
(Plus if that happened there would likely be a civil war or something)

Haha, yeah right. They'd probably find themselves a job with the government to counter inter-vigilantes. Censoring the internet could bring thousands of jobs :D

That would provoke a revolution against fascism, but even if this does happen (and it happens on numerous countries) , there are existent solutions. There are anonymous networks based on the Internet that cannot be taken down and provide anonymity to their users.

Australia
i rest my case
People in those countries can already find alternatives, like proxies and stuff, to get past their country's firewall.

I'd seek out some known hackers, group them together and wage an online war against the censors, who'd be with me?
(i'm serious, mail me if you would)

Actually that is a good idea, we could start a group now and be prepared for when that happens.

China tried to do that, but people just started to use elgoog.com (google backwards) and they found all the sites that were blocked. you simply can't censor anything, not if people want to see what you are censoring.

Doubt it, the Internet is international, so if they take down a British Porn site, they're going to get some hate.
What a shame, Mister Jensen.

Well figuring the internet is made of tubes, it'd be pretty hard to censor. I mean what are they going to do? Tie it's tubes?

The internet isn't owned by any one country. It's worldwide. Sure, governments of individual countries can block websites, but proxies are the solution to that.

The thing that annoys me is people who just dismiss the idea saying "Oh it could neverhappen." And then it actually does and they just bend over and take it like the spineless pussies they are.
If China and Australia can censor what their citizens see, what makes your country so special?
In my opinion, at the rate we're going in 20 or so years, some websites will be considered "illegal" and would be like the equivalent of having child porn on your computer. That is if they didn't force their web hosting to remove the site altogether.
I mean didn't Britain declare cartoon child porn to be just as bad as the real thing? Not like I care but the whole "slippery slope" argument comes into play.

A lot of countries have already censored the internet, like China. You can't go on Newgrounds in a lot of Asia apparently.
