Churches oppose gay marriage because if gays are alowed, the churches lose all their money, but if they didnt get involved in the political scramble about gays in the first place, their tax flow would not be effected. So churches dont really HATE gays, they just want the money and they trample others to get it. :P And im pissed that parents were freaking the fuck out because the teacher read a story about the two kings thing. Jesus fuck its not like your gonna come into your 10 year old's room shoving his dick up his friends ass. kids at that age will just say "A man and a man? Thats just silly. :P" Guys only like guys if they develop feelings for eachother. not because they were read a story about two guys that devolopted feelings for eachother. As if the story actually desanitized the 2nd graders minds and could have transformed them all into gays. I dont oppose gay marriage, but marriage was invented from the love of a man and a woman. Why not change marriage to a "union" for gays and les? :P im not saying marriage isnt for homosexuals, im just saying it was DESIGNED for a man and a woman. now, what is stronger, the bible, or the amendments. Gay marrage whats the point in even caring their going to be together regardless just means they have a contract so its more work to leave each over. Now gays being allowed to have kids thats where i have an issue.

Its because its just weird i wouldnt want it if i were the kid. 2 women maybe but 2 blokes you would get ripped. You might think id be the one doing the ripping but im not that bad would just think its weird but at the end of the day how many school kids are gonna see that as normal.

O please you honestly telling me that society accepts gays having kids its mostly made up of people who think the same as me im not sayin its right and i dont like being intolerant im very accepting to most things but at the moment it isnt the norm for gays to have kids sometimes people have to get used to an idea gradually like it or lump it thats life people dont like sudden cultural shifts why do you think so many english people went nuts in the 70s when asians came over and its happening again now im not judging it i personally have lots of asian friends at uni but im just saying there are certain things that people have to get used to slowly or you will have problems with predjudice

It's not their fault that they are homosexual, and for that, they shouldn't be stripped of their rights to be married. I say that I am for gay marriage and everyone derserves to live a happy life.

How else kids should think about the LGBT community?
Being gay is a variation of being human, just like your skin color, gender, or ethnicity.

They don't need to know the mechanics of the sexual acts that makes all gay people--gay. It would be like heterosexual couples like their parents. Younger kids don't know that their parents are together because they have sex.

My younger cousins know that homosexuality is normal. Their moms and dads taught them that, and they're doing completely well in terms of all aspects of development. They don't even think twice about it either. And they don't show any more tendency to become gay either.

I dont think people have a problem with gay people i myself dont as I grew up seeing gay people on tv 1 my best mates at school turned gay so did a class mate and another mate of mine i worked at a store where the manager was gay 2 of my work mates were gay and 1 was a lesbian accepting som1 for liking another person of the same sex is not my issue im still very good friends with 3 of the people above my point is gays having children is in different aspect that i dont agree with and that kids dont see around all the time they may see them on tv or not get it but i think they would differ between a man and a woman having a child and 2 men which is why i dont think its normal its up to people who do to slowly influence me and change my mind over time not just suddenly force me to accept it

Fli, good post & I feel very sorry for those people out there who somehow equate being accepting or even (gasp) friends of gay people can "somehow" make you gay as too pathetic an individual(s) to actually be worth the time to refute.

We are all simply humans.We come in many shapes, sizes & colors, with a huge amount of different & varied interests. So who are any of us, to judge anothers preferences as being correct & or better ?

Its a simple matter of defining the marriage which no government has the right to do. im soo sorry gays... guys... people whatever... your just going to have to settle for a civil union and understand that your rights, our rights, as a people, prohibit the government from accepting gay marriage as it is in fact a religiously defined sacrament. sucks but i hope you can understand it has to be this way for the preservation of our rights.

same sex couples do in my opinion though possess the capacity to be great parents and should be given the same right to adopt as hetero couples as i know many hetero parents that time and time again proved their incompetence and were seen as fit to raise children (BY THE STATE). that is a bigger point i believe then the semantic of marriage.

and leave the children out of the fucking picket line, very distasteful and undermining of any credibility befitting a responsible parent.

Gay couples will not effect the childs pyschy or cause the child to become a homosexual themselves. These are stupid stereotypes created by homophobic people to try and spread these to create others to disapprove and follow their standings on homosexuality. Gay couples are just as capable of showing the love and compassion needed to create a health enviroment then hetrosexual couples. It is based on the people themselves and how they go about raising the child with disapline and attention given to the child as appose to something as trival as their gender.
