DId you make sure you have the right instrument selected when you layed down your notes. The middle column number indicates what instrument you are using. Also it's important to reset any effects you used on the tracker lane or they will stay on until you start the track over again.

New job or no new job: that is the question

So, i just got home from an interview.
I applied for a job at a callcenter. Had to do a couple of tests first, which i all easily got through.
Today was the real test though.. and i have a positive feeling about it. I hate interviews (especially when there are two people interviewing instead of one), but i think i did okay.
I'll get a phone call today or maybe tomorrow with the result.

2 isn't bad... I once had an interview in front of an entire board of people... I nearly had a meltdown. I did end up getting the job though... Although that's probably mostly due to the fact that I had an inside connection. Eventually gave the job up though cause shift work kills me.

Good luck though.

When I was interviewed, I was surrounded by large men in fancy suits. I was being interviewed along the side of these men. I watched them go into a large, carpeted room every ten minutes. Finally, my name was called with another guy I had been talking to. I went inside the room and two young ladies started asking us questions. I just smiled, answered truthfully, and always answered first.

I was called back for a 2nd interview later that day. The other guy wasnt. I was invited in another room with two guys. I saw fries on the table. They were from a bar downstairs. I looked them in the eyes and said, "have you had those fries? They are DELICIOUS!" We talked about the bar and other chit chat for about ten minutes. Then they said, "so we heard you make music for a website". I sat and said "i sure do!" Then they asked what my username was. "...FatKidWitAJetPak". They laughed and looked me up. "OH COOL AMBIENT MUSIC". They said after five seconds. Then they looked at me and said "welcome to the company".

Apparently they interviewed thousands for that role.

In conclusion, ambient music and the NG AP always has my back.

Got all that, thats not the issue, the issue is say I try to make a drum beat, im used to doing it in real time, so I press the keys in the rhythm I want and think "Yeah!" try playing it in "record" and end up with a jumble of beats. I then try to space them out, it's too slwo, doesn't even sound like what I tried to do earlier. change the tempo, and well it doesn't sound like what I played earlier, only now it's faster. It just sounds like a group of monotoned notes.
It's not just a problem with famitracker, it's also why I didn't make much progress in FL9 or anything else I used.

Figured out how to lay down notes in real time, better, but I just realized there is no way to space out notes, some are awfully close together. Anyway, real time note laying, better, but still a problem keeping a melody floating without sinking into nonsensical notes again.

Got a swell pair of Sony studio headphones for $20. Satisfied with em' so far. Been needing something new to hear through, my speakers are shit. They make a buzzing noise and what-not, so while I wait for some new speakers, these headphones will work out nice.

Yeah don't worry im smart with my ears, I listen to them at 20% volume.

Im playing Arkham City right now. I got a kid to buy it for me on black friday, but its just been sitting in my dresser. It looks pretty cool so far... ive been too distracted by the retro world to pay any attention to the new 360 games coming out.

Platypus

What the fuck. They have a secret venomous claw tucked behind one of their back feet. They also have electrovision.....as in.....they can see/sense electrical fields given off by whatever (including living things).

How the shit........thats not even including the malarchy that is having a bill, webbed feet, a beaver tail, and laying fuckin eggs.

TLDR: What the fuck is this thing, and how can I become one?

I am literally flabbergasted... people listen to ambient music and think, "this guy's got skill that we are willing to pay good money for"...?!

I clearly have a lot to experience in this life.

Oh, and don't take that as an insult... yes, I look at ambient music as boring, but what does that matter when you're getting the $$$ for it?

The cool thing is that Goa never came to the south. Neither did Psytrance. The only electronic influences here are brostep, dubstep, and popstepstepstepstepetystep. You occasionally see some electro and house from the underground scenes, but other than those rare and unfindable opportunities we have nothing. This club I'm DJing at is pretty popular so I have a real chance at introducing some culture to these fine people.
