eh.. it is inevitable. most of it has to do with moving a lot and not finding closure to problems that I've had. also I believe I have developed some case of bipolar depression over the past few years. I've been on my high this past year but I'm starting to go on the lows again. I've also noticed that I'm acting slightly crazy ( nothing too overboard) when around people... and I was never really like that before.

lastly, I haven't had a girl I liked like me back in my entire life and that's been bugging me recently now that I'm watching all these relationships starting so quickly with different people. I even had the guts to tell the girl I liked her just a couple weeks ago ( first time doing that up front with a girl and I got rejected hard ) .

fuck people.

Well, depression, bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses tend to make themselves known at around age 20 in males, so I'm guessing that since you're starting college you're getting pretty close to that. It's still possible you're just in a regular slump because you're having trouble with people, though.

It's a good thing I compose for my own amusement and not just to become famous because otherwise that video would have put me on the 6 o clock news.

today in news, a local man went totally bat shit crazy and started bludgeoning innocent bystanders to death with what appeared to be a microphone, screaming incoherent half sentences.

Alright I figured out what I was trying to say. (about famitracker) No matter how hard I try to translate my thoughts onto the program there is no way I can figure out how to. For example, I keep trying to make the first three seconds of this song as practice. I wind up with some diarrhea bullshit that sounds completely off in EVERY way, no rhythm, no nothing really. I come up with the instruments, god forbid that wasn't the hardest part, I set a tempo and speed, as I lay down the notes I try to adjust said tempo and speed, it only makes... Some strange sounding crap.

Can someone please show me how to make things sound...right? I tried uploading a file of my attempt but Newgrounds does not support .wav files. C'mon it's REALLY discouraging.

To be fair, this video only gives us a small overview of te song, we dont actually get to know exactly how long he worked on that track, for all we know, he could have been working for weeks trying to perfect the sound.
And who really cares how long a producer works on a track? I dont. And frankly, should you?

Naw, the less time you spend on your music, the more time you can spend trying to get famous and doing stupid 1 minute videos.

DId you make sure you have the right instrument selected when you layed down your notes. The middle column number indicates what instrument you are using. Also it's important to reset any effects you used on the tracker lane or they will stay on until you start the track over again.

New job or no new job: that is the question

So, i just got home from an interview.
I applied for a job at a callcenter. Had to do a couple of tests first, which i all easily got through.
Today was the real test though.. and i have a positive feeling about it. I hate interviews (especially when there are two people interviewing instead of one), but i think i did okay.
I'll get a phone call today or maybe tomorrow with the result.

2 isn't bad... I once had an interview in front of an entire board of people... I nearly had a meltdown. I did end up getting the job though... Although that's probably mostly due to the fact that I had an inside connection. Eventually gave the job up though cause shift work kills me.

Good luck though.

When I was interviewed, I was surrounded by large men in fancy suits. I was being interviewed along the side of these men. I watched them go into a large, carpeted room every ten minutes. Finally, my name was called with another guy I had been talking to. I went inside the room and two young ladies started asking us questions. I just smiled, answered truthfully, and always answered first.

I was called back for a 2nd interview later that day. The other guy wasnt. I was invited in another room with two guys. I saw fries on the table. They were from a bar downstairs. I looked them in the eyes and said, "have you had those fries? They are DELICIOUS!" We talked about the bar and other chit chat for about ten minutes. Then they said, "so we heard you make music for a website". I sat and said "i sure do!" Then they asked what my username was. "...FatKidWitAJetPak". They laughed and looked me up. "OH COOL AMBIENT MUSIC". They said after five seconds. Then they looked at me and said "welcome to the company".

Apparently they interviewed thousands for that role.

In conclusion, ambient music and the NG AP always has my back.

Got all that, thats not the issue, the issue is say I try to make a drum beat, im used to doing it in real time, so I press the keys in the rhythm I want and think "Yeah!" try playing it in "record" and end up with a jumble of beats. I then try to space them out, it's too slwo, doesn't even sound like what I tried to do earlier. change the tempo, and well it doesn't sound like what I played earlier, only now it's faster. It just sounds like a group of monotoned notes.
It's not just a problem with famitracker, it's also why I didn't make much progress in FL9 or anything else I used.

Figured out how to lay down notes in real time, better, but I just realized there is no way to space out notes, some are awfully close together. Anyway, real time note laying, better, but still a problem keeping a melody floating without sinking into nonsensical notes again.
