Nah, my goal is not to promote, it's to show a point. The song doesn't fit any of the categories in the audio submission. I'm not here to advertise the song, I'm here to make the system better.

Then put it in Miscellaneous. Problem solved.

How many people actually search for the genre "misc"? It's a dead end solution... lol

Many.

As in people looking for other genres that are not listed.

But it would be easier to just write "film score", or "power metal", or something like that.

Put that into the tags. If people search audio using those terms it will show up.

Jeez, why is so classy?

I just use related genres such as Classical for Flimscore, shit tons of people do this. Or toss it in the Misc like other previously said.

The 999th run-up was awesome. Too bad the 1st post on 1000th is a crappy meme, fuck you waffle!

I do. When I was an audio mod I often searched through it to find stuff to frontpage, too. There's a lot of good stuff there.

School project. Halp

Hear me out on this please if possible!

I have this important school project that will count towards my A-Levels. I won't go into the details but basically in the school project it's forcing me to make some kind of artistic thing. It could be a drawing, painting, sculpture, anything... Obviously for my case it's music. There's a lot more work than that; I've got to do research, write journal entries on how I made my song, etc... If I had to actually give you any details of this project you'll realise that it's a load of horse manure.

But I digress. I've nearly finished the song in question that I have to do but one of the rules of the project is that you 'seek apprenticeship' with someone professional who has more experience and qualifications than you in what you're doing, so that they can help you with the project.

Now I've recently learnt that it's possible to seek apprenticeship with someone online... So can anyone help? Basically all you'll need to do is make comments/feedback/criticism on my music which I can use in the project and send your signature to me via email or something. The requirements are that you need to have professional-grade qualifications in music, be at least a few years older than me and you know a thing or two about orchestral music. And obviously you have to not mind having your name written down on the school project of some random kid in Malta.

I really need some help on this. My project is supposed to be finished in a few weeks and if I don't 'seek apprenticeship' with someone I think I'll probably fail. If I can get it done before Tuesday that'd be even better because on Tuesday I start school and I'll be getting something like 5 hours of homework a day. If you're not able to, any suggestions of who fits the requirements and might be able to help would be fantastic.

And what exactly is the criteria for "professional-grade qualifications"? Some form of diploma?

I suppose. Or actually working as a musician.

Any kind of qualifications will do. Just something that says "I'm not a random musician, I know what I'm doing".

Erm, I'm a working musician of sorts? Didn't I propose myself last time we talked?

In any case, just log on to MSN if you'd like to have me, or just let me know if you'd like someone else.

So did you try actually asking people for whom you know this to be the case yet? DavidOrr, MaestroRage, sorohanro, Zstriefel, NickPerrin, RampantMusik, Breed?

OK that would be awesome. I wasn't sure if you wanted to but since you do then I'll talk to you about it later.

Thanks!

This project wouldn't happen to have anything to do with the WISE program?

It's self-study where you have to learn about something, make a journal, and do a big presentation at the end... I signed up to do one this year.
