hey guys!!!!!!

is there a thread on here just for competitions? like ones from around the web and not on newgrounds, I just think it'd be good if there was a place where you could post a remix competition so people can hear about them and have a go.

I haven't got any good competitions right now haha but sometimes I come across some that are hard to find and yeah - is there already a thread like this? or can I make one?

The only time you really see competitions outside of NG is when a well-known artist from around here has one for a recent release on a label for an album. Other then that, most of them would probably be deemed advertisement from an outside source.. and those don't go well with the mods if I'm correct.

Perfect. Free food.

And good target for summer hunting too. In your own darn backyard!

Thought about making fun of that earlier but figured it was just going ruin the joy of LaForge. Wasn't looking for a forum fight.

My old house (Parents') is in the middle of the woods. I loved it when you'd see pheasants and turkeys in the winter. Last month (I think) my brother and I were driving to our friend's place to pick him up so we could go to the mall and shit and a mother turkey and a ton of chicks decided to walk out into the road in front of us. I'd never seen turkey chicks in the wild before, it was pretty adorable, all in a line like ducks 'n' shit.

You know what's awesome? When you take old keyboard riffs you had lying around in your PC and make them into a kickin' metal song.

On one hand it's fun to play and it's free sport and all that.
On the other hand it takes up the majority of the living room and it's noisy.

my song Desperate Measures is the product of the opposite idea.

Your PC took your riffs and made them into a punchin pop song?

Reminds me of newskool, a synth that comes with reaktor, it uses the same cell thing but somehow converts the movement of cells to create sounds.

Is reaktor any good? I remember getting the free player a while ago with prism (or some similarly named synth) and I just found it really unresponsive and hard to understand. like I couldn't do simple things - is that just for me or does it take some time to get used to?

You probably grabbed the free copy of Micro Prism with the Reaktor player. If I remember correctly, Reaktor allows you to build instruments and effects from the ground up, but also comes with a nice amount of them packed with it. It's pretty versatile from how much I've used it, but I've mostly spent my time using Prism with a lot of my tracks.

You also forget to mention that she's pretty beast at it too. xD

But wow.... I can definitely see pros and cons with that.

Their curly fries is very good but I try to avoid most of their meals, especially the beef burger.

Pro: he already has a girlfriend, so he doesn't have to worry that it's a potential fuck repeller.

Con: it probably uses as much juice as three refrigerators.

It's worth noting that it is hers. Also I don't really know how much that thing takes in terms of power. If I recall correctly though, we're on a fixed contract so that wouldn't make a difference.

Work

My co-worker in the web department of the marketing agency I work at left the company today. This means that I'm the only one running the web department for 2 weeks (until the new guy joins). Way too much responsibility for my liking, and it's probably going to be a while for the new guy to be worked in enough so a lot can be pushed on to him. Stress.
